Serbia’s Public Broadcaster (RTS) has long announced that its participation in Eurovision 2020 will be selected through a national final, Beovizija! The deadline for submitting applications has already begun. With a previous announcement, RTS extends the deadline to 9 December!
Beovizija, as a method of selecting the country’s participation, was implemented in 2004, 2007-2009 and 2018-2019.
In addition to the general rules applicable to all Eurovision songs, Beovizija candidates must adhere to the following two rules:
a. The lyrics of the songs are written in one of the official languages of the country
b. Foreign composers may participate, however the performer must be a Serbian citizen
The dates of the Beovizija 2020 have not yet been announced.
The winner of the 2019 Beovizija and Serbia’s representative at the Eurovision 2019 was Nevena Božović. She performed “Kruna” on the stage of Tel Aviv and took 18th place.
