Italy: Only 400 spectators at San Remo 2021?

According to the Italian press of today, RAI is considering to allow only 400 spectators to be present at Teatro Ariston, under of course strict measures.

The plan under consideration, envisages the presence of 400 spectators, who, after they go through COVID-19 tests, will be transferred to a cruise ship at the city harbour. They will be on board under strict quarantine from the 2nd to the 6th of March 2021. Every evening special buses will drive those 400 spectators to Teatron Ariston for the festival. During the Festival rapid tests will be carried out, so that the organisers make sure that everyone is safe.

There are similar plans for the accredited journalists, while it is examined that they will stay at the casino of San Remo where the press centre might possibly be. RAI’s plan is to protect everyone involved at the organising of San Remo, so that the Festival can be televised as close as possible to normal conditions.

Italy: The first odds for the winner of Sanremo 2021!

The 71st Sanremo Song Festival may be a long way off, as it will be held in March, but that does not stop betting companies from giving the first odds to the winner, who will most likely be Italy’s representative at Eurovision 2021.

According to Superscommesse, the first favorite to win is the duet of Fedez & Francesca Michielin. If Francesca Michielin manages to win at Sanremo 2021, she will represent Italy for the second time, after 2016, where she represented her country although she was not the winner of that year’s festival, as the Stadio winners were not able to participate in Eurovision.

The second favorite is the band Måneskin. The popular pop rock band has a large fan base that follows them and will definitely be one of the protagonists. In third place is Annalisa, who has reached the source many times, but without winning so far.

See the bets in detail:

Fedez & Francesca Michielin 3.50-4.50
Måneskin 5.00-6.00
Annalissa 8.00-9.00
Aiello 8.00-12.00
Arisa 9.00-10.00
Ermal Meta 7.50-11.00
Irama 8.00-11.00
Noemi 9.00-12.00
Fulminacci 9.00-13.00
Gio Evan 13.00-20.00
Lo stato sociale 12.00-13.00
Random 13.00-20.00
Gaia 9.00-15.00 (this is kinda surprising)
Max Gazzè & TMB 15.00-16.00
Willie Peyote 16.00-25.00
Fasma 15.00-21.00
Francesco Renga 15.00-21.00
Colapescedimartino 16.00-33.00
Extraliscio ft. Davide Toffolo 25.00-31.00
La rappresentante di lista 25.00-31.00
Madame 20.00-33.00
Coma_Cose 33.00-36.00
Ghemon 41.00-50.00
Bugo 50.00-51.00
Orietta Berti 50.00-51.00

Of course, all of the above will be overturned as soon as the journalists listen exclusively to the candidate songs and write their review.

Who do you think will be the winner of Sanremo 2021?

CASANOVA: I want people to dance and sing together ! Let them forget their problems for a few minutes!

Eurovision Fun had the honor to host an other exclusive interview with one more candidate of the French national Final Eurovision France, c’est vous qui décidez!. His stage name is Casanova (real name Yoann Casanova), his entry is called Tutti  and he is going to perform it in French and Corsican. He is 27 years old and before he enters the music industry he used to work as a fireman. The French national final is expected to take place in January 2021.

Interview with Casanova

What’s your favorite French entry in the history of Eurovision ?

For the song and for the artist he is, I choose Patrick Fiori with “Mama Corsica” in 1993!
He represented France as I would like to represent it! He is very authentic, and a true French with all his cultural values !

Why did you wanna compete at the Eurovision concept ?

I have loved Eurovision since I was little! This big and spectacular show has always attracted me and intrigued me! I like to see how each country feels music. And discover different styles, and sounds of the world.

What is the message of your song ?

I want people to dance and sing together ! Let them forget their problems for a few minutes! Especially during this time of global pandemic…
In today’s society I find that we have become increasingly individualistic, social networks make us believe that we are connected but really, we are far away from each other…
In my song, I want to tell that whatever happens , together we are stronger and we can overcome everything !
Through it, I would like to be the face of culture and values of each French region

What can we expect from your stage presence ?

My team and I will give everything to prepare you the best possible performance on stage ! I really want you to come and party with me ! I’m so excited !

Can you tell us more about yourself so we and your fans can know you better ?

My real name is Yoann CASANOVA, I live in Bastia, Corsica and I’m 27 years old ! I was Fireman before. I left everything for music !
I was lucky to be able to participate in The Voice France and reach to the Final !
I love SPORT !!! Running in the mountains and Football !

I wanna ask you if there was someone from the music industry that was your idol or role model ?

I don’t really have an idol but a lot artists inspire me! In France I admire for Jacques Brel forhis texts and his interpretation… Johnny Hallyday remains the way to be on stage, a real showman! More recently I’m listening to Stromae, Ed Sheeran and John Mayer !

How was your experience in The Voice ?

It was a great adventure about people, friendships and art… I learned a lot about myself and my emotions during this period when we were performing ! I have incredible memories of it !

Have you ever visited Greece ?

I have never been to Greece… I’ve seen so many wonderful pictures, I have friends who told me so beautiful things about it! I hope to get there as soon as I can !

*At the end of the interview Casanova thanked us for the support*

In closing, we would like to thank Casanova for his time and we would like to wish him the best of luck to his attempt to raise the Tricolour in Rotterdam 2021.

Italy: Jalisse complains for the 24th rejection in the Sanremo Festival!

Jalisse, the duo that won Sanremo in 1997, then representing Italy in the Eurovision Song Contest with Fiumi Di Parole winning fourth place, publicly expressed their protest and displeasure that they were once again not selected among the competing artists in the upcoming festival.

Jalisse, which consists of Alessandra Drusian and Fabio Ricci, and is a couple in life, are constantly trying since their victory at Sanremo 1997, to be back on the Ariston stage, without success.

Fabio Ricci wonders in his long post on the official page of Jalisse, if in the end the reason for their rejection is that they do not have the right acquaintances. Nevertheless, as he characteristically states, they will insist, because they remain romantic.

Every year, with fearless hearts, for 24 years, we hang on to television, hand in hand like two dreamy lovers, like when you wait until Santa Claus arrives late or when you are the last in a long line and you hope it’s your turn and instead they close your door. We hope that Jalisse will be among those names that will be announced, with the new song that we submit to the jury, every year.

Jalisse wonder why they are cut every year, saying that they do not want to believe the rumors that everyone who is selected has friendly relations with people on the jury, etc. Fabio Ricci also reveals the song they sent to last year’s festival, saying that they will definitely release the song they have submitted this year as well.

Ireland: Lesley Roy is back for Eurovision 2021!

RTÉ has announced that Lesley Roy will represent Ireland at the Eurovision Song Contest in Rotterdam next May with a brand-new song.

Lesley has spent the past three months in studio working on a new song to represent Ireland with. The song has now been chosen and will be revealed in the New Year. The song was written and produced by Lesley, along with Eurovision producer Lukas Hallgren (Who also produced “She got me”, Switzerland at Eurovision 2019), Philip Strand (producer/songwriter), Normandie, Deepend and Emelie Eriksson, Stockholm based songwriter at Baggpipe Studios.

Lesley Roy said:

“It was a real shame we didn’t get to showcase Story of My Life on the Eurovision stage, but had the show not been cancelled this new song would never have emerged. I’ve been working on new material 24/7 and this song was clearly the strongest out of all of the demos. I believe that it is even bigger than Story of My Life, and will reach an even wider audience. I am just so excited to finally get my shot on the Eurovision stage after months and months of work and can’t wait to reveal more information about our song in the New Year.”

Details of the song and the first airplay will happen at a date to be announced early in the New Year. Ireland will perform in the first semi-final at the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest on Tuesday, May 18th at the Rotterdam Ahoy Arena with the final taking place on Saturday, May 22nd.

Lesley is the 22st artist of Eurovision 2020, who will participate in Eurovision 2021.

Let’s remember Story of My Life the song with which she would represent Ireland in this year’s competition:
