France: What does the first place of “Voila” in odds mean?

The truth is that we waited a few hours to see if the first place of France and “Voila” in betting, was not something temporary and opportune because of the really beautiful stage appearance of Barbara Pravi in yesterday’s national final for Eurovision, which conducted by TV France. Finally, it seems that Voila has come to stay and will keep us busy on the way to the 65th Eurovision Song Contest!

France was launched after the appearance of Barbara

Despite the fact that all the songs of the national final were known as early as mid-December, France remained in tenth place in the bets. Immediately after the live appearance of Barbara Pravi, the odds started to fall rapidly. A few minutes after the announcement of the final results and the great victory of Voila, France dropped Lithuania to the second place and moved to the first place of the bets.

The above has its significance. It proves how important the live show is and how the stage presentation can turn the data upside down. We have seen it happen many times in the past in the contest. That is, songs that we did not consider a favorite, to reverse the situation and raise their shares on stage and vice versa of course.

This is the significance and perhaps the only safe conclusion we can draw from the first place of France in betting. Yes, it is still too early to talk about victory, but that does not overlook the fact that there is a dynamic. A dynamic that we did not see in Israel and Albania, who have also announced their songs.

2.37 million watched Eurovision France: c’est vous qui decidez

TV France is also completely satisfied, since the comments of the users yesterday on the internet about the new format of the national final were more than positive. #EurovisionFrance was throughout the live broadcast of the trends in France, but also in Germany and Switzerland!

Viewership ranged at 12.3% or 2.37 million French on average. attended Eurovision France: c’est vous qui decidez. Higher numbers than the last national final held by France in 2019, when 2.14 million were tuned to their receivers to watch Bilal win with Roi.

We would say that both presenters received rave reviews, with Laurence Boccolini stealing the show, especially with her dancing figures. There are many who claim that it would be a perfect and at the same time different choice of presenter, if France wins and hosts the contest!

However, the video of Barbara Pravi’s live appearance has already exceeded 350,000 views in a few hours!

Will Barbara Pravi manage to bring victory to France, 44 years after country’s last victory in the contest?

Moldova: Producer of a Eurovision winning song predicts top3 for Natalia Gordienko!

The Dream Team is in the final stretch for Moldova‘s entry with Natalia Gordienko in Eurovision 2021. In fact, after the statements for victory of the singer herself, but also of Philipp Kirkorov, a new relevant statement comes to further strengthen our expectations, for the Moldovan entry in the upcoming contest.

“We are preparing the winning song”

Natalia Gordienko, together with Dimitris Kontopoulos and Elias Kokotos, is in the last days in Kiev, where she is preparing the video clip of her song. The information tells us that this is a blockbuster video, which we rarely see in the contest, the costs of which have been borne by the singer herself.

From Kiev and shortly after the official announcement of the Moldovan public television that Natalia Gordienko will represent the country again, the popular singer said that together with Dream Team they are preparing the winning entry in Eurovision 2021.

It is an honor and a privilege to represent Moldova at Eurovision 2021 in Rotterdam! I look forward to working with this incredible dream team! We have already started working on creating the winning song in the most important song contest in the world!

“Moldova will be at least in the top 5”

Yana Rukdovskaya, one of the most important music producers in Russia and responsible for Dima Bilan’s two songs in Eurovision, took the baton of statements. Among others is wife of Evgeni Plushenk, the gold medalist in ice skating, who appeared with Dima Bilan on the stage of the competition in 2008.

Yana Rudkovskaya uploading a photo with Philipp Kirkorov saying that she has already heard the song, also knowing many other secrets, in relation to the Moldovan entry (obviously the script of the stage appearance), expresses the certainty that Natalia Gordienko with her song will definitely be in top5 and most likely in top3.

“A sweet surprise with a Greek signature”

The song that both Natalia Gordienko and Philipp Kirkorov presented as a “sweet” surprise has a strong Greek presence. Of course it is a melody by Dimitris Kontopoulos, while the vocal teacher is Victoria Chalkiti. The director is Fokas Evangelinos, while the project manager of the whole project is Elias Kokotos.

As you first read in Eurovisionfun, the new song will have nothing to do with Prison, that is, last year’s participation of Natalia Gordienko. The song will be dance… a lot of dance! Its sound is in a style that flourishes in the countries of Eastern Europe. It’s a piece about sex and youth. Natalia is expected to set fire with her sexy presentation. The song along with the clip is expected to be presented by March 8.

We can assure you since we are lucky to have heard the song, that Yana Rukdovskaya’s prediction is not at all excessive!

Denmark 2021: Dansk Melodi Grand Prix presenters revealed!

DR, the Danish public broadcaster will broadcast the Danish national final for Eurovision on Saturday, March 6.  Eight contestants will take part in Dansk Melodi Grand Prix this year.  There will be no audience during this national final.  However, the contestants will perform accompanied by the Grand Prix Orchestra.

Today the Melodi Grand Prix presenters were revealed.  Tina Müller and Martin Brygmann will host the Danish national final.  Tina Müller is well known as a sports news presenter.  She has also hosted major live shows.

Martin Bryggmann is an actor, comedian and musician.  This is his first time hosting the DMGP.  However, he is no stranger to the Danish national selection.  He has been a member of the professional juror in the past and co-wrote 2005’s song I Must Be Crazy by the group Sweethearts.

In February 10  we will get to know the names of the 2021 DMGP contestants.  The names of the artists and their songs will be revealed in 3 different radio shows: ‘P3 Buffeten’ (on DR P3 between 9.04 and noon), “Formiddag på 4’eren” (on DR P4 between 10.03 and noon) and “P4 Play” (airs on DR P4 from 12.15 to 14.00) on Wednesday 10 February until 2 pm (Danish time).  The songs will be public at 2 pm on dr.dk and the DR’s Grand Prix app.

The winner of the DMGP will be decided exclusively by the vote of the audience.

Ben & Tan won 2020 DMGP and were set to represent Denmark in Eurovision.  Tan has already ruled out a 2021 participation:

“I feel we would take the place from some others. After all, we have tried to be part of the show. It must be someone else’s trip next year. That is most fair. And you can run the risk of going again and then lose, and that’s what people remember. So we would rather leave it to victory and then otherwise focus on our music.”

Tan

Let’s enjoy Ben & Tan’s winning performance from the 2020 Dansk Melodi Grand Prix

Norway: New problems in MGP’s online voting!

After the uproar that broke out, for set results in the first semifinal, problems were also noted in the voting of the second semifinal of MGP 2021, further blurring the credibility of the process.

According to the country’s public television, there were technical issues with the voting system, as many users with older mobile devices were unable to vote. Of course, as it was emphasized, this problem did not affect the results of the vote, which of course remains to be seen if it will be valid, when we will have the detailed announcement of the results, after the final of MGP 2021.

This is the umpteenth time things are not going as planned in the MGP. Last year, during the final, the voting system collapsed, and a 20-member committee selected the 4 contestants who advanced to the second phase of the final.

We remind you that the winner of the second semifinal of MGP 2021 was Raylee with Hero. On Saturday 30/1, the third semifinal takes place, where another song will get the ticket for the final, while we will have the opportunity to listen to the song of Kaja Rode“Feel Again”, which is one of the direct finalists.

Below you can watch our interview with Blåsemafian, the winners of the first semifinal:

Sweden: “We felt an obligation to record this song” | The Mamas speak exclusively to the Eurovision Buddies!

The Mamas, the female band that would represent Sweden at Eurovision 2020 and are participating in this year’s Melodifestivalen again this year, hoping to win a ticket to the competition again, spoke exclusively in the last Eurovision Buddies interview.

The band members, Ashley Haynes, Loulou Lamotte and Dinah Yonas Manna, explain to Giota and GOS the reasons that led them to re-register for the Melodifestivalen. How their new song, In the Middle, spoke directly to their souls and they hope the same will happen to the listeners.

They do not feel pressure to win. They declared participation like thousands of other artists and all they want to convey with this participation is love.

We did not expect to win last year. Neither in the bets, nor our posts were in the top3. We were shocked!

As for the competition now, it does not scare them. They look forward to hearing the rest of the Melodifestivalen 2021 songs and seeing their interpretations.
