Cyprus at the Eurovision Song Contest

This is Cyprus39th appearance in the contest, which is now the country with the most appearances without a win. The debut came in 1981 with Monika and an impressive sixth place. Until the end of the 90s, Cyprus very often managed to be in the top ten of the final standings. However, since 2004, when the semi-final system began, and until 2014, it managed to pass the semi-final stage, only on three occasions!

The above has changed drastically since 2015 and since then, with little Cyprus counting only appearances in the grand final of our favorite competition. The highlight, of course, was the second place in 2018 with Eleni Foureira and Fuego.

Last year, Cyprus was represented by Andromache, with the song Ela, without making it to the Final.

What do you think of the Cypriot participation in this year’s contest? Stay tuned for all the news regarding Cyprus at Eurovision.
