Iceland: results for Söngvakeppnin 2023 revealed!
Iceland’s public broadcaster RUV has announced the detailed results for their national final Söngvakeppnin 2023. Now we can examine how both the televoting and jury gave their points.
Iceland national final got the highest voting participation from the televoting exceeding any previous year. In fact, the Icelandic final receive more than 260,000 votes, an impressive number for a country with a population of around 370,000 people.
Here are the detailed results of Söngvakeppnin 2023:
Public voting in the first round of voting
- Diljá -Power: 47,549 votes (38.60%)
- Langi Seli og Skuggarnir – OK: 31,557 votes (25.62%)
- Celebs – Doomsday Dancing: 17,436 votes (14.15%)
- Bragi -Sometimes the world’s against you: 14,463 votes (11.74%)
- Sigga Ózk -Dancing Lonely: 12,179 votes (9.89%)
Jury voting in the first round of voting
- Diljá – Power: 30,939 votes (25.12%)
- Sigga Ózk -Dancing Lonely: 24,350 votes (19.77%)
- Celebs – Doomsday Dancing: 23,491 votes (19.07%)
- Bragi -Sometimes the world’s against you: 22,345 votes (18.14%)
- Langi Seli og Skuggarnir -OK: 22,059 votes (17.91%)
Total first round voting results
- Diljá – Power: 78,488 votes (31.86%)
- Langi Seli og Skuggarnir – OK: 53,616 votes (21.76%)
- Celebs -Doomsday Dancing: 40,927 votes (16.61%)
- Bragi – Sometimes the world’s against you: 36,808 votes (14.94%)
- Sigga Ózk – Dancing Lonely: 36,529 votes (14.83%)
The top two voted songs advanced to the second and final voting phase, where only the audience voted.

- Diljá – Power: 85,515 votes
- Langi Seli and the Shadows -OK: 42,235 votes
The votes from the televote during the first voting phase were added to the votes of the second round, for the final result.

- Gaute Ormåsen competing in Eurovision 2022 – Norway
- Ersin Parlak San Marino Music Agent and Media Representative at Eurovisison – Turkey
- Ramūnas Zilnys Music Director at Lithuanian National Radio – Lithuania
- Helena Nilsson Social Media Manager – Sweden
- Ihan Haydar competing in Eurovision 2022 – Denmark
- Emely Griggs Program Director at Australian National Television – Australia
Iceland is very notable for being very transparent regarding their Eurovision national final. Every year at the end of their national final the public broadcaster makes public the details of both the jury and the televote so that everyone can know the details behind the final scoreboard.
