Croatia was represented this year by Let 3 with the song “Mama ŠČ!“. The popular Croatian group took the 13th place with a total of 123 points, which is the country’s best performance in recent years in the Contest.
As announced by the Cypriot broadcaster RIK-CyBc, the title of the song, with which Silia Kapsis will represent Cyprus at Eurovision 2024, is “Liar“. The song is composed by Dimitris Kontopoulos and the lyrics are written by ELKE, a well-known Dutch artist.
The production of the song was completed a few days ago in a recording studio abroad. The creative team is completely satisfied with the final result, while the excellent response the song has received from all parties involved has filled the Cypriot mission with enthusiasm.
Liar is a very contemporary pop dance track, with instrumentation and production that perfectly suits the explosive stage presence of Silia Kapsis.
Silia Kapsis is leaving for Los Angeles in the next few days to meet Kelly Sweeney and Guy Groove, the choreographers who will be in charge of her choreography, which will be seen on stage in May. Immediately afterwards she will return to Cyprus to shoot the official music video of the Cypriot entry.
After the shooting of the music video, Silia Kapsis will travel to Greece, where she will make appearances in local media. The song is expected to be released in late February/early March, of course through RIK. Silia will remain in Athens until May, carrying out her final rehearsals for the competition.
The Cypriot delegation continues with a well-organized plan, its preparations for Eurovision 2024, always keeping a low profile, but hoping that it will manage to impress and be even higher on the scoreboard than Andrew Lambrou, who placed 12th, having an excellent performance last year.

Dan Shipton will not be directing the stage performance of the United Kingdom’s entry in the 68th Eurovision Song Contest, as was disclosed on The Euro Trip Podcast.
Shipton served as the director of the British entries from 2015 to 2018. He also did so in 2022, the year Sam Ryder’s “Spaceman” came in second. In addition, he took overall creative supervision of the Competition in 2023 when the UK hosted on behalf of Ukraine.
The BBC’s executive producer for the competition, Lee Smithurst, told Euro Trip that Dan Shipton would not be in charge of the stage performance because Olly Alexander already had his own team.
Dan is not going to be doing the staging because Olly has his own team.
It’s important that he has his own team around him for Eurovision.
As for Olly Alexander, he added:
The good thing is that Olly’s such a massive fan of Eurovision – he does know it inside out. You don’t need to tell Olly you can only have six people on stage, or that your song can’t be more than three minutes long.
Who is going to stage Olly Alexander’s Eurovision entry?
According to Lee Smithurst, the British entry is being directed by Theo Adams, who the British representative has been collaborating with for a number of years.
For Olly and Theo to be working together already and thinking about ideas is great because they’re a team and they trust each other. They’re going to come up with something great.
Olly Alexander and Lee Smithurst collaborated on a number of noteworthy projects, the most prominent of which being Alexander’s world tour and duet with Elton John at the 2021 BRIT Awards.

We can undoubtedly say that a country that everyone is talking about since the representative’s announcement, is the United Kingdom!
The 33-year-old Olly Alexander is the representative of the United Kingdom, for about a month now. He is most commonly known as the singer of Year & Years, one of the most successful groups of Engand! After that announcement, the United Kingdom, is in the first places in the betting odds, and has raised high expectations even about winning the contest.
He has recently interested the media, with another cause, with his statements about Israel, by signing a letter, calling Israel an “apartheid regime”. There were many enraged comments and people even asked for the BBC to withdraw Olly Alexander from the contest. The public broadcaster, responded that they will allow Olly to express his political views freely. They surely, fully support their representative, who is the greatest name they have sent in recent years.
There are some new statements by the BBC, in “The EuroTrip Podcast”, to set the bar even higher for the 33-year-old singer:
“We are going there to win it with a single that is an incredibly commercially successful single”

Laura Tesoro, who sparked a storm of reactions, both positive and negative, with her move to raise the Palestinian flag at the concert given in honor of the assumption of the Presidency of the Council of the EU by Belgium, is now coming to justify her move, saying that does not support the terrorist organization Hamas.
The big concert held in Mechelen, Antwerp, was marked by demonstrations by pro-Palestinian organizations, which even forced the intervention of the police. Laura Tesoro who sang at this concert, made a move that was commented on in various ways and about which you read in our previous article.
During her performance she raised the Palestinian flag, with some in the audience cheering and others reacting negatively. A little while ago, Laura Tesoro, who successfully represented her country in Eurovision 2016, reaching tenth place, justified her move, wanting to distance herself from Hamas, which runs the Palestinian enclave in Gaza.
Over the past couple of months, many Eurostars have expressed their views publicly on social media regarding the ongoing conflict in the Middle East between Israel and Palestine. Among them Eric Saade and La Zarra.
