Junior Eurovision 2023: Listen to Spain’s song!

With less than two months remaining for Junior Eurovision 2023, the song that will represent Spain in the junior contest has just been released.

This year, Spain used an internal selection in order to choose its Junior Eurovision act. Hence, it was announced in July that the 11 year-old Sandra Valero will fly the Spanish flag to Nice.

So, three months after the announcement of Sandra’s participation, her entry “Loviu” is out. “Loviu” is described as a catchy, upbeat song having the elements needed to compete for Spain’s second win in the contest.

You can listen to the Spanish entry below:

The official video will be released on a later stage.

Who is Sandra Valero?

Sandra is from Valencia and started singing at the age of four, and now, at the age of eleven, she is a singer, actress and model. She is a young girl with immense talent, which led her to participate in many television competitions.

Spain first participated in Junior Eurovision in 2004, having won in one occasion with its entry “Antes muerta que sencilla” performed by María Isabel. After an absence of more than a decade, Spain returned and maintained its status as one of the most successful countries in the competition.

The 2023 edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest will take place on the 26th on November in Nice, following Lissandro’s win last year in Yerevan.

Junior Eurovision 2023: Will recent developments affect Armenia’s participation?

Armenia is officially one of the 16 countries that have announced that they will be participating in Junior Eurovision 2023, however recent events in Nagorno-Karabakh make it uncertain whether they will be able to compete in Nice after all.

No final decision has yet been made, as Martin sterdahl, the Executive Supervisor of the competition, stated to 20 Minutes during a press conference held in Nice on Wednesday.

“The EBU will keep track of the unfolding of the really worrying situation”.

Armenia’s participation in this year’s contest will likely be decided in the upcoming days. Although Baku’s 24-hour military operation did not extend to Armenia’s main territory, the country is currently dealing with significant refugee flows that are leaving Nagorno-Karabakh for Armenia after the former was merged into Azerbaijan. Obviously, the country does not place a high importance on competing in Junior Eurovision at this point.
