Albania: The participants of Festivali i Këngës 61 are announced!

A few moments ago, the Albanian broadcaster announced through their website, the twenty-six participants who will participate in Festivali i Këngës 61. 22 soloists and 4 groups have been selected by the jury to compete in the competition, from which the winner will represent Albania in the Eurovision Song Contest 2023.

Albania’s radio broadcaster, RTSH, has not yet announced when Festivali i Këngës 61 will take place. The competition is traditionally held in mid-December.

The participants of Festivali i Këngës 61 and the titles of their songs are as follows:

  2. Alban Kondi & Lorela Karoshi – “Melodi”
  3. Albina Kelmendi – “Duje”
  4. Anduel Kovaçi – “Malli”

Last year’s winner was Ronela Hajati with “Sekret“, who did not make it past the semi-final as she finished 12th with 58 points.

Junior Eurovision 2022: Listen to Albania’s song for the contest!

Albania’s participation for Junior Eurovision 2022 that will take place in Yerevan, Armenia has been chosen. Kejtlin Gjata has been declared the winner of Junior Fest 2022 by the jury voting, with the song “Pakëz Diell”. The program has been broadcast through Albania’s national broadcaster, RTSH.

The participations at the Albanian national final for selecting the country’s Junior Eurovision entry were the following:

  • Alesja Uruçi – “Qyteti im” (My city)
  • Armela Kosta – “Ndriço” (Light up)
  • Armela Shane – “Shqipëria ime” (My Albania)
  • Ajshel Zykollari – “Syhëna Rozali”
  • Biornis Maxhallaku – “Emocione për dy zemra” (Emotions for two hearts)
  • Dea Amoniku – “Nuk jemi lodër për asnjeri” (We are nobody’s toy) – 2nd
  • Eisi Mehmeti – “Dilemat” (Dilemmas)
  • Ejza Hoxha – “Plot ëndrra jetën e dua” (I love a life full of dreams)
  • Erta Jonuzi – “Premtim” (Promise) – 3rd
  • Irsa Mashi – “Dua të besoj” (I want to believe)
  • Kei Piqani – “Shoqja ime më e mirë” (My best friend)
  • Keit Hitaj – “Yjet e shpresës” (The stars of hope)
  • Kejtlin Gjata – “Pakëz diell” (A little sun) – 1st
  • Noemi Pjetra – “Simfoni” (Symphony)
  • Sara Elshani – “Adoleshentët” (Teenagers)
  • Sibora Teqja – “Ne jemi paqja që sundon në botë” (We are the peace that rules the world)
  • Sindi Zeka – “Botë bardhezi” (Black and white world)
  • Viola Beshiri – “Qielli i moshës sime” (The sky of my age)
  • Melodi Heta – “Balerinë do bëhem” (I will become a ballerina)

Pakëz Diell”’s music has been written by Edri Muça, while its lyrics were signed by Kejtlin Gjata herself. The song is entirely in Albanian.

Junior Eurovision 2022: 16 countries will take part in the contest in Yerevan!

The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) alongside the Armenian public broadcaster (AMPTV), announced that 16 countries are going to take part in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2022, which is scheduled to take place in Yerevan, on Sunday, December 11.

The 16 countries that will travel to Yerevan in December are:

  • 🇫🇷 France (France TV)
  • 🇬🇪 Georgia (GPB)
  • 🇮🇪 Ireland (TG4)
  • 🇮🇹 Italy (Rai)

  • 🇲🇹 Malta (PBS)
  • 🇳🇱 Netherlands (AVROTROS)
  • 🇲🇰 North Macedonia (MKRTV)
  • 🇵🇱 Poland (TVP)
  • 🇵🇹 Portugal (RTP)
  • 🇷🇸 Serbia (RTS)
  • 🇪🇸 Spain (TVE)
  • 🇺🇦 Ukraine (UA:PBC)
  • 🇬🇧 United Kingdom (BBC)

The number of countries that will take part in this year’s contest is reduced, compared to last year, since Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Germany and Russia will not return to the contest, while the United Kingdom returns after a 16 years of absence.

What is more, alongside the final list of competitions, the Armenian public broadcaster announced the slogan of this year’s contest which is: “Spin the Magic”.

Martin Österdahl, Executive Supervisor for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, is excited about the show’s return:

“We’re delighted to be welcoming talented young artists from 16 countries this year to Yerevan for the 20th Junior Eurovision Song Contest. It’s exciting to be returning to the Armenian capital for the first time in over a decade to “Spin The Magic” on this special anniversary – and welcoming back the United Kingdom to the competition, our host country for Eurovision 2023. There’s so much energy, passion and creativity from our colleagues at AMPTV and we can’t wait to see a spectacular show in December.”

Eurovision 2022: Watch the Live-on-Tape performances of Albania, Latvia and Lithuania!

Today, fans will be able to watch the Live-on-Tape videos of the competing countries of Eurovision 2022,  through the official YouTube channel of Eurovision.

About thirty out of the forty countries competing, accepted to present the Live-on-Tape performances of their representatives. EBU will present those performances through the YouTube channel of the contest, in groups of three. If the publication of the videos continues like this, in about ten days, we will be able to watch all the perfromances of the contestants.

The countries that will be presented today are the first three countries in the running order of the First Semi-Final, namely:

  1. Albania
  2. Latvia
  3. Lithuania

The first three Live-on-Tapes will be released one every thirty minutes from 16:00 to 17:00 CET.

Albania: Song Submissions for Festivali i Këngës have opened!

Just a few weeks after Eurovision 2022 took place in Turin, Italy, the song submissions for Festivali i Këngës are now open! Festivali i Këngës is an annual music competition organised by Albania’s national broadcaster (RTSH). It has been broadcast every year since its debut in 1962 and since 2004 it also determines the country’s representative for the Eurovision Song Contest.

The requirements for artists to submit an entry are as follows:

  • The final version of the song.
  • The entry must be no longer than 4 minutes.
  • The final version of the instrumental track, with and without backing vocals.
  • The lyrics of the song.
  • The names of the producers of the song, the lyricist and the composer.
  • Artistic photographs, biography of the singer or band, including other activities, awards and features.

Last year’s winner of Festivali i Këngës, Ronela Hajati with the song “Sekret”, finished twelfth in the first semi-final with 58 points.

Eurovision 2022: The Dress Rehearsal of the First Semi Final! (Live)

Today is the first day of the Eurovision week! We can already hear the “Sound of Music” echoing from Pala Olimpico in Turin and it’s just a few days before we finally know who is actually going to win the 66th Eurovision Song Contest!

The dress rehearsal of the Eurovision 2022 First Semi Final has just started. EurovisionFun will be watching all the shows live at both the on-site press centre in Turin and at the online press centre and we will be covering this rehearsal, commenting on all the performances and describing in detail what is happening during the show.

You will be able to to follow the entire process and get the feeling that you are right at the heart of the contest! This article gets updated in nearly real-time, all you need to do is hit the refresh button on your browser and all the rest is on us!

Eurovision 2022: Albania’s Second Rehearsal!

Today,  the second rehearsals for the 66th Eurovision Song Contest are going to be held in Turin officially starting today. First to take the stage for their second rehearsal is Albania, with Ronela Hajati and the song “Sekret“.

Who is Ronela Hajati?

Ronela Hajati was born in September 2, 1989 in Tirana, Albania. She was interested in music from a very young age, Ronela studied ballet and piano and took part in a variety of song and dance contests before making a career in the music industry. Ronela is known for her diversity in music, style and performance. She took part in a lot of Albanian song and dance contests, like Top Fest and Kënga Magjike, and this year she managed to win the 60th Festivali I Këngës, a beloved annual show in Albania, and has more recently been used to select the country’s Eurovision entries. Hajati triumphed over 19 other acts, with some of the brightest names in music amongst them.

The rehearsal

Ronela wears different clothes, this time in white. The choreography remains the same and the performance sgtarts with close ups to Ronela and her dancers, while in the first chorus the female dancer enters the stage as well. There is some smoke coming out in various parts of her performance. Ronela also had a small problem with her microphone and ear piece. As for her three runs, we would say that her second run was the best.

Albania: Ronela Hajati is holding final rehearsals in Rome!

The representative of Albania, Ronela Hajati, is currently in Rome, where she is rehearsing for this year’s Eurovision Song Contest in Turin.

These rehearsals take place at the CMA – Centro Multidisciplinare delle Arti.

She had previously revealed that she will be joined by four Italian dancers on the stage in Turin. The singer is traveling to Rome having participated in Eurovision Pre-Party all over Europe, including the Eurovision Spain Pre-Party last weekend.

Ronela was chosen to represent Albania at the Eurovision Song Contest after she won the national final Festivali i Këngës with the song “Sekret”.

Albania will be the country to open the first semi-final for this year’s contest on May 10th, with the goal to win one of the ten tickets to Saturday’s Grand Final.

Albania: Listen to the revamp of “Sekret” by Ronela Hajati!

For yet another year, Albania chose its representative for Eurovision 2022 through its national song contest, Festivali i Kenges 60. The winner was Ronela Hajati with the song “”. Some time after her win, she said the her song will be revamped for Eurovision.

Ronela said in the past that she wanted the revamped version of her song to be done in London with the producer Diztortion, who has work with big names like: ShakiraDavid Guetta and Rita Ora. It is not confirmed, whether Ronela worked with him in the end.

Who is Ronela Hajati?

Ronela Hajati was born in September 2, 1989 in Tirana, Albania. Widely known as Ronela, an Albanian singer, songwriter and dancer. She was interested in music from a very young age, Ronela studied ballet and piano and took part in a variety of song and dance contests before making a career in the music industry. Ronela is known for her diversity in music, style and performance. She took part in a lot of Albanian song and dance contests, like Top Fest and Kënga Magjike. A lot of her songs had great success, getting millions of views in YouTube.

Albania will perform in the first semi-final and specifically the first half (numbers 1-8).

Albania: The Revamp and the Video Clip of “Sekret” will be released in early March!

Ronela Hajati, the winner of Festivali i Këngës 60, started shooting the video clip of “Sekret” in the south of Albania, with a strong message for the preservation of our natural heritage. The clip of the song is filmed along the Aoos river, in Vyllis. Another part of the filming will take place in Argyrokastro and in Tepeleni.

The video clip, will be published in early March on the official Eurovision Youtube channel and will show some of the most seductive Albanian women, as a postcard for all Eurovision fans.
