Azerbaijan: Mads Enggaard announced as Nadir’s staging director!

As the representative of Azerbaijan in this year’s Eurovision, Nadir Rustamli, announced through his personal Twitter account, the Danish producer Mads Enggaard will once again be responsible for the country’s stage presentation in the Eurovision Song Contest.

The experienced director Mads Enggaard has been involved with the Eurovision Song Contest for the past 18 years. He staged the entries of Efendi at Eurovision 2021, Chingiz at Eurovision 2019, but also the entries of his home country, Denmark, in the years 2004, 2010, 2018 and 2019.

As Nadir revealed in his social media, he is currently in Denmark, where he is rehearsing together with Mads Enggaard. There he also met the creators of his song, the Dane Thomas Stengaard and the Swede Andreas Stone.

The country competes in the 4th place of the Second Semifinal with the song “Fade To Black”:

On February 16th, on the show “Good Morning, Azerbaijan” aired on azeri public television, it was revealed that Nadir Rüstəmli is the country’s representative at Eurovision 2022.

Who is Nadir Rüstəmli?

Nadir is 22 years old, born on July 8th, 1999 in the Salyan area. He graduated from Azerbaijan University of Tourism Management. Although he has been working professionally with music for 4 years, he has been working in the field of tourism for 7 years. Apart from singing, he composes and plays the piano and the guitar, while he is also involved in sports.

He has participated in many domestic competitions, such as the national song contest Student Spring 2019 (1st place) and the intenational song contest YouthVision 2019 (2nd place). In addition and most importantly, he is the winner of this year’s The Voice of Azerbaijan.

Azerbaijan has been drawn to compete in the second semifinal on May 12th and will appear during the first half of the night (positions 1-9).

Azerbaijan: Nadir Rüstəmli’s Eurovision song has been selected!

According to 12 Xal, the Azerbaijani broadcaster has chosen the song with which Nadir Rüstəmli will represent the country at Eurovision 2022, in Turin, Italy.

6 out of more than 300 submitted songs qualified for a second phase. These songs were then recorded and evaluated by a jury that made the final decision.

12 Xal reports that the song will be released next week along with its video clip, however, no specific date has been announced yet.

Today, on the show “Good morning, Azerbaijan” aired on Public Television, the singer and head of the Azerbaijani delegation, Isa Malikov, participated as a guest. During the show, he told the public that the artist who will represent Azerbaijan at Eurovision this year is Nadir Rüstəmli. He also mentioned that about 300 songs were sent, where they will select the 6 best songs and they will all be performed by Nadir Rüstəmli.
