Bulgaria: With Victoria in Rotterdam in 2021?

Bulgaria also will probably be represented at Eurovision 2021 by the same artist! Victoria, the first betting favorite so far this year, is likely to regularly represent her country in May 2021 in Rotterdam!

In her tweet, Bulgaria’s 22-year-old representative quoted:

“Tears Getting Sober” is a project that means everything to me as an artist and to the wonderful team behind it. I fully understand and respect this necessary decision. But I believe that Eurovision 2020 artists should be allowed to interpret our songs in 2021!”

In an initial tweet, the official account of the Bulgarian expedition initially stated that their view is that countries should be represented in 2021 by the selected artists and songs. Later, however, the tweet that the deal with the sponsors of the Bulgarian participation was completed ten days after Victoria’s online concert! This leaves open all possibilities. We are therefore awaiting other developments regarding Bulgaria’s participation in Eurovision 2021!

Bulgaria: Victoria Georgieva in Rotterdam

Bulgaria’s Public Broadcaster,BNT, has announced that 22-year-old Victoria Georgieva will represent the country in its comeback in the contest!

Recall that as BNT General Manager Emil Kuslokov revealed at the end of last month, Bulgaria’s return to Eurovision was made possible by a British production company, which was responsible for all the costs of participation. As revealed in today’s BNT press conference, this company is Ostereo.

In addition to the sponsor announcement, however, the BNT also unveiled Bulgaria’s Eurovision 2020 representative in Rotterdam in May. This is Victoria Georgieva, 22 years old who became known to the Bulgarian public through her participation in the fourth edition of X Factor, 2015.

Although the judges over the past three years mostly didn’t go to Victoria in the Lives, 2015 was her year. She was named Adele of Bulgaria and although she was not the final winner, having left 9th Live, her performances were perhaps more impressive than all the contestants.

The song, with which will compete on stage at Ahoy Arena, will be selected as an internal selection by Bulgarian Public Television, the sponsored production company and the artist’s team. It will be announced in March with the release of the relevant video clip. At this point it should be noted, however, that in the summer she was recording in the studio with Borislav Milanov, who was the composer of all of Bulgaria’s performances from 2016 onwards.

Below you can hear her latest single, released a few months ago:

Bulgaria: Back to Eurovision again

This day started with a pleasant surprise for the Eurovision constitution and the Europeans all over Europe . Bulgaria is returning after this year’s absence from the contest for financial reasons, according to BNT General Manager of the country’s public broadcaster Emil Kuslokov.

One major sponsor will cover all costs of Bulgarian participation in Rotterdam

The Director General of BNT today announced that Bulgaria will be present at Eurovision 2020, having already confirmed its participation in the EBU.

A major sponsor will cover all costs (from participation fee, to travel, subsistence, stage presentation, video clip, costume, etc.). The sponsor will be present at a special press conference soon. The relevant amount is expected to be between 400,000 and 500,000 Leva.

“Many people have money, but few invest in culture. Therefore, I feel the need to thank the sponsor for what he does for the BNT. It’s not money thrown into the wind. Bulgaria had strong performances in Eurovision. so it is worth continuing this tradition, and why not pursue global productive activity”

British production company the big sponsor

We may not yet know who is hiding behind Bulgaria’s return to the contest, but what we do know is that it is a large British production company, for which the BBC sent an hour-long video to BNT to use in its presentation.

According to Emil Kuslokov, the company has major projects and collaborations with international stars such as Beyonce.

The company will choose both the song and the artist to represent Bulgaria in Rotterdam on May 12, 14 and 16, hoping to continue the success of the country in the competition.

We may have had the withdrawal of Hungary in the past few days, but today we have been informed of the return of Bulgaria, which together with Ukraine, after their absence this year, will make the event a bit  more interesting.

In 2018, Bulgaria was represented by Equinox with “Bones”, taking 14th place:
