Czechia: “Pedestal” will be revamped, says Aiko!
The first national selection of the season took place in Czechia on early December. Following the one-week duration of an online voting conducted both by the Czech and the International audience, Aiko was crowned the winner and hence the Czech representative at Eurovision 2024 with her song “Pedestal“.
With nearly five months to go until the 68th Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö, a question is raised among the Eurovision fandom regarding whether Aiko will revamp her Eurovision entry. The small duration of the song along with the usual tactic of revamping a song released at that early stage have caught the attention of the Eurovision fans.
A few days ago, Aiko was invited to “Eurovision with Adam” podcast, where among other thing she also gave an answer regarding a potential revamp of “Pedestal“, which she confirmed it will happen.
I would definitely love to look at it. We’re actually meeting with my producer early January, just to see what we can actually do to maximize the impact, to use the time, just because as you’re saying “Pedestal” is around 2:20 and we have three minutes. Why not use the space, why not have the actual impact and do something with it?
So we’re definitely gonna play around, see what we can create also together with the team that’s gonna do the lighting and everything around it, cause we have some ideas as well for that. So, yeah, we’re definitely gonna do that!

Aiko’s answer to the allegations of her breaching the rules
Shortly after Aiko’s win in ESCZ 2024, there was a video circulating the internet, which displayed Aiko singing her song “Pedestal” in front of an audience on a festival in June. There was some backlash regarding whether Aiko should be disqualified or not, bearing in mind the rules of the competition stating that no song shall be released or performed in public before September 1.
Aiko answered to these allegations, mentioning that:
I have not released any statements or anything just because it’s really not my job as an artist to explain to everyone what the rules are and what is happening. There is an official statement from the EBU, the EBU has been notified before I was even entering the national selection about the whole thing. So, it should be ok. Everything’s fine!

Czechia: The detailed voting results of ESCZ 2024!
Just a few hours ago, ČT, the national broadcaster of Czechia, announced the winner of its national selection.
A week ago, seven artists performed their songs live during the Czech national final, with voting opening during the evening and closing on December 12. The result was determined by 70% of the voting of an international audience and 30% of the voting of the Czech audience, crowning Aiko with “Pedestal” as the winner of ESCZ 2024.
Moreover, ČT has also published the detailed voting results of ESCZ 2024, which were shaped up as following:

It is noticeable that the International and Czech audience did not agree upon the winner of the selection. International viewers gave the win my a massive margin to Aiko, while the Czech audience massively voted for Elly, while placing Aiko fifth out of seven. Although, the win in the international votes was crucial for Aiko, giving her the ticket to Malmö.

Czechia: Aiko to be the Czech representative at Eurovision 2024 with “Pedestal”!
It’s Czechia’s turn to present the representative and song that won the national final and the country’s representation in Eurovision 2024 in Malmö. ČT, the public broadcaster of the country, selected seven artists who took part in the grand final of ESCZ 2024, last week. The hosts of the nationl final, were Adam Mišík, and also the Austrian representative of 2018, Cesár Sampson was the co-host.
The seven artists performed their songs live during the Czech national final, with voting opening during the evening. The final result was determined by 70% of the voting of the international public and 30% of the voting of the Czech public, a clear indication of the importance given by the Czech delegation to the preferences of foreign Eurofans who will also have the final say during the three nights in May in Sweden.

The national final period has officially started. It’s Czechia’s turn to present the representative and song that won the national final and the country’s representation in Eurovision 2024 in Malmö.
ČT, the public broadcaster of the country, selected seven artists who took part in the grand final of ESCZ 2024, last week.
The hosts of the nationl final, will be Adam Mišík, and also the Austrian representative of 2018, Cesár Sampson will be a co-host.

Czechia: ESCZ 2024 took place tonight | Watch the performances and Vote!
Just a while ago, ESCZ 2024, the national final of Czechia, took place and the artists presented the songs with which they are vying to represent their country in Eurovision Song Contest 2024, in Malmö.
The hosts of the night were the well-known actor from Prague, Adam Mišík, and the Austrian representative in 2018, Cesár Sampson as a co-host.

The seven finalists, presented their song, by performing them live and here are the perfromances:

Czechia: ESCZ 2024 Final takes place tonight!
The Czech Republic chooses its representative in Eurovision 2024 tonight, as in a few hours the Grand Final of ESCZ 2024 will take place.
ČT, the public broadcaster of Czechia, decided to organize a national final, for the sixth year in a row (with the exception of 2021), in order to select their representative for Eurovision 2024. The public broadcaster selected seven artists that are going to compete in the Grand Final of ESCZ 2024.
The hosts of the nationl final, will be Adam Mišík, and also the Austrian representative of 2018, Cesár Sampson will be a co-host.
The final of ESCZ 2024 will take place tonight at 20:15. The national final will be broadcasted by the official Eurovision YouTube channel and you can watch it HERE.

Czechia: Listen to the songs competing in ESCZ 2024! (Updating)
We’re just a few days apart form the first complete national final of Eurovision Song Contest 2024. The national final of Czechia, is going to take place this Monday, with seven artists competing.
Czechia: Participation in Malmö confirmed – Submissions for National Final are open!
Czechia is looking for its representative for the Eurovision Song Contest 2024!
From now until 11/06/2023, 23:59 CEST inclusive, it will be possible to submit songs via a form on the official website of the show.
- Songs can be in the form of a demo, a final master is not necessary at this stage.
- Submitted tracks must not have been published or publicly presented in any form before 1.9.2023. If a submitted track has been published or publicly presented before this date, it will be automatically disqualified.
- Multiple submissions from a single artist are allowed.
- The lead singer, i.e. the main vocalist of the song, from this year’s edition does not have to be only a holder of Czech citizenship – now also artists from Slovakia who permanently live and work in the Czech Republic and contribute to the development of the Czech music scene can participate in the competition. In the case of a duet, at least one of the main vocalists must meet this condition.
Note: Czech Television reserves the right to cancel the competition if the Czech Republic is unable to participate in ESC 2024 for any reason.
The national selection (ESCZ 2024) will be broadcast LIVE again. The voting rules for the national selection ESCZ will be published in November.
Last year in Liverpool the central European nation was represented by Vesna and the song My Sister’s Crown who after having qualified fourth from the first semifinal, the ended up 10th in the Grand Final.

Czech Republic: National Final Canceled- Online competition for its next representative in Eurovision 2020
While what we knew so far that the Czech Republic would stage a national tv final on January 25, with eight songs competing for representation in Rotterdam, insurmountable obstacles seem to have forced the public broadcaster (ČT) to cancel it and opt in for ESC 2020 online.
Through a Facebook announcement, ČT states:
“The national final will not be televised. Yes, so … after a few weeks and after a very difficult decision, the return to the national television final is postponed to next years (next, next year?) Due to many, many difficulties. We want to do something really different, and this year we thought it wouldn’t work the way we dreamed it would. We are returning to the online form of the competition as the previous two years. BUT … But don’t worry, we are doing our best to make the upcoming national finals online, so check out our online platforms for more information”
The dates for the ČT online national final for the Eurovision Song are:
-06.01.2020 Press conference and announcement of the eight finalists.
-13.01.2020 Release of songs and start voting.
-26.01.2020 End of voting and announcement of winner within a week.
In Tel Aviv the Czech Republic was represented by Lake Malawi with the song “A Friend Of A Friend”, which took the eleventh position with 157 points. It was the second best place in the Czech Republic after Mikolas Josef’s sixth place in 2018.
