Eurovision 2023: Estonia’s Second Rehearsal!

Next up on the stage  is EstoniaAlika with her song “Bridges” is ready for her second rehearsal on the stage of M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool!

Who is Alika?

Alika was born in Narva in Estonia on 5 September 2002. She has been performing since she was four years old, and has participated in many televised singing competitions including ‘The Baltic Voice’, ‘New Wave Junior’, ‘Kaunas Talent’, ‘Bravo Song Contest’ and ‘Berlin Perle’. Alika rose to fame after winning the eighth season of ‘Eesti otsib superstaari’ (Estonian Idol), securing more than 70% of the vote in the final.

Her first three singles, ÕnnenumberBon Appetit, and C’est La Vie, all reached the top of the radio charts in Estonia, solidifying her popularity in her home country. She’s participating in Eurovision 2023 with Bridges, which she wrote with Wouter Hardy, who co-wrote Duncan Laurence’s Eurovision winning song Arcade.

The Rehearsal

Unfortunately this year, accredited journalists don’t get the chance to watch the first and second rehearsals, so we only get the information and content that the organizers officially release to the public.

Everything on Estonia’s performance remains just the way it was on Monday’s first rehearsal – on point!

On stage we see the first piano for this year so far. It’s exactly the same one we saw in Eesti Laul.

Alika has a very strong voice. Also, the lighting and graphics of the Liverpool stage look great and there isn’t a square inch of the floor and LED’s that isn’t used here, giving a dramatic tone to the performance.

The Dress Rehearsal for Estonia and the rest of Semi Final 2 will be held on the 10th of May.

Estonia: Alika has filmed her Eurovision postcard!

Alika has filmed her postcard for Eurovision 2023.  The Estonian representative has visited Tallinn, the capital of the country to film her postcard.  The postcard features Tallinna teletorn (Tallinn TV Tower).

During the postcard we will see Alika walking around the tower and exploring the outside:

The 2023 postcard are taking place in each of the 37 countries of the participant acts.  In addition to this, we will see 111 locations across the Ukraine, the UK and the 37 countries in competition.  The postcards will be accompanied by music made by Ukrainian musician Dmytro Shurov.

Alika will represent Estonia in Eurovision 2023.  She will perform the song Bridges in the first half of the Second Semi-Final.

In the meantime you can enjoy our reaction to Bridges in the video embedded below:

Estonia: Alika will bring her piano to Liverpool!

With a similar appearance to the one she performed in the Eesti Laul 2023 final, Alika will appear in Liverpool. This means that she will have her special piano with her!

In Alika’s Bridges performance at Eurovision 2023 she will play the piano that was part of Eesti Laul’s performance. The revelation was made earlier this week as Tallinn Airport shared photos of her piano being shipped to Liverpool as part of preparations for the contest.

This is of course not surprising, since almost all the Estonian representatives in the competition retain the stage appearance they had in Eesti Laul to Eurovision as well, with some improvements of course.

Estonia is competing in the second semi-final, with the betting so far putting them on track to qualify for the grand final.
