Eurovision 2022: Watch the Live-on-Tape performances of Portugal and Croatia!

The live-on-tape of the countries that participated in the 66th Eurovision Song Contest in May in Turin will be shown this year through the official Eurovision channel on YouTube.

From June 14 to 23, Eurofans will have the opportunity to watch the live-on-tape appearances of about thirty of the forty countries that took part in this year’s contest.

Today, it is the turn of two other countries of the first semi-final. Since the EBU decided to show the live-on-tapes based on the running order of the first semifinal, this means that today it is the turn of Portugal and Croatia.

As the live-on-tapes of Portugal and Croatia were published, we learned that apart from the Netherlands, which only yesterday announced that it would not publish its own performance, Moldova also decided not to publish its live-on-tape.

Eurovision 2022: Portugal’s First Rehearsal!

Today,  the rehearsals for the 66th Eurovision Song Contest continue in Turin. First to take the stage of the Eurovision Song Contest is Portugal, with Maro and the song “Saudade, saudade”.

Who is Maro?

Maro, was born in October 30, 1994 in Lisbon. Despite her young age, she wrote her first song at the age of 11. It wasn’t until she turned 19 that MARO realised she wanted to pursue music full time. She knows how to play piano, guitar and bass. She graduated from Berklee College of Music in Boston and in 2018 she released her first album. In her first year in LA, the artist released six self-written and self-produced albums. During this time, her Instagram caught the eye of Grammy winner, Jacob Collier, who invited her to join his debut touring band as a featured vocalist and instrumentalist.

The rehearsal

Portugal are performing on the B stage right in front of the Green Room, singing in a circle formation that really fits the intimate, dreamlike style of the song. The graphic backdrop adds some swirly colour, and It’s a simple, beautiful performance that’s given us our first goosebumps of the day. And…relax.

The detailed results of Portugal’s national final for Eurovision 2022 were announced!

Portugal’s public broadcaster, RTP, announced the result of the jury and the public vote for the two semi-finals of Festival da Canção 2022.

The results of the semi-finals:

Portugal: Festival da Canção 2022 Final tonight!

The Festival da Canção 2022 comes to an end tonight, through which Portugal will choose its representative at Eurovision 2022.

The Portuguese national selection will take place on three different nights: two semifinals on March 5th and 7th and the grand final on March 12th.

Finalists

Ten artists are participating in tonight’s final of the Festival da Canção 2022. These artists are:

  1. Pongo & Tristany – Dégrá.dê
  2. SYRO –  Ainda Nos Temos
  3. Milhanas – Corpo de Mulher
  4. Inês Homem de Melo – Fome de Viagem
  5. Aurea – Why
  6. Os Quatro E Meia – Amanhã
  7. FF – Bom Esperar Alguém
  8. Diana Castro – Ginger Ale
  9. MARO – saudade, saudade
  10. Pepperoni Passion – Código 30

The Portuguese representative at Eurovision 2022 will be chosen by 50% of the will of the Portuguese public and 50% of the preference of the jury.

Presenters of the second semifinal of the Festival da Canção 2022 are Filomena Cautela and Vasco Palmeirim.
