Eurovision 2022: Artists to film their Postcard Appearances from their Countries!

The artists of Eurovision 2022 will once again film their appearances in the postcards remotely.

Social media posts have started to show the artists of Eurovision 2022 remotely filming their appearances for their postcards in front of green screens from their home country.

A few days ago, we saw photos from this year’s entry of Serbia, in which they seem to film their postcard in front of a green screen.

The same happened in 2021, when the postcard featured all of the artists presented in a tiny house in a unique place in The Netherlands. The artists recorded in front of a green screen in their home countries and were then superimposed onto a tiny house that was filled with items related to them.

While in 2015 or 2018, the artists taking part that year would travel to the host nation to film them selfs taking part in local activities or seeing local sites.

Due to the still ongoing effects of the pandemic, it is likely the decision was made to avoid unnecessary travel and film the artists in their home nation.

The postcards of 2022 will be following the slogan of the contest “the Sound of Beauty”, with Rai filming in beautiful locations across whole Italy. Still, we don’t know further details about the way the artists will be featured in this years postcards.

Locations known to feature in the postcards so far include:

  • Terni & the Marmore falls in Umbria
  • Civita di Bagnoregio in Lazio
  • Perugia
  • Naples
  • Venice

The postcards appear before the start of each entry in the competition, with each country having its own video. It is traditionally used to promote the host country of that year’s competition but also to present the singer or band that is going to participate.

The Eurovision Song Contest returns to Italy this year following Måneskin’s victory at the 2021 contest with their song “Zitti e Buoni”. The 2022 contest will be hosted in Turin on 10th, 12th, and 14th May at the PalaOlimpico.
