Eurovision 2024: More interval acts were announced!

Today, Swedish broadcaster SVT named two of the interval acts that viewers can look forward to enjoying during the two Semi-Finals of the Eurovision Song Contest 2024. And it’s an all-star line up of past Eurovision performers that will be returning to the stage.

In the First Semi-Final, Benjamin Ingrosso will give us a show-stopping medley featuring just some of the songs he’s recently performed across Europe as part of his Better Days Tour.

In the Second Semi-Final, the audience will have the opportunity to participate in the world’s biggest sing along, together with three iconic Eurovision queens – Helena Paparizou, Sertab Erener and Charlotte Perrelli.

Benjamin Ingrosso

Back in 2018, Benjamin Ingrosso got the honour of representing Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest with Dance You Off. The song gave Sweden an impressive Top 10 finish in the Grand Final.

Since then, the artist has gone on to achieve three number 1 albums in his home country, and has also won multiple Grammy Awards, including one for Artist of the Year in 2022. In 2024, Benjamin scored his first number 1 on the Swedish singles chart with his song Kite. And also this year, Benjamin has recently wrapped his very first European tour, the Better Days Tour.

Benjamin Ingrosso will head to Malmö to give the audience and viewers a spectacular interval act in the First Semi-Final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2024. He is going to treat us to an extra-special medley that is guaranteed to set Malmö Arena in musical motion!

On his forthcoming appearance at the First Semi-Final, Benjamin Ingrosso says:

“After I got to represent Sweden at Eurovision in 2018, it now feels great to be able to show the audience who I am today. It has been fantastic to meet all the fans on my tour in Europe during the spring and now I hope that the Eurovision audience will love this show as much as I do”

Malmö Arena will be rocked, Benjamin-style, when a total of 21 people take to the stage in a super medley. Together with the band, the dancers, the lights, the image production and specially constructed videos in the background, Benjamin has planned a television number of the highest international class.

Sing-Along with Helena Paparizou, Sertab Erener and Charlotte Perrelli

The Eurovision Song Contest is set to stage the world’s biggest sing along – with some of the world’s most beloved Eurovision queens!

For the first time ever in the Eurovision Song Contest, at the Second Semi-Final the audience in the arena and at home will be invited to take part in a sing-along. Anyone who wants to can therefore be part of the Semi-Final interval performance remotely, via an interactive TV wall. To participate, you can check the Eurovision Song Contest’s official social channels, where all the instructions will be given closer to the time.

During the sing-along, audiences will be invited to sing classic songs from the Eurovision Song Contest’s history, together with three of its most popular past winners.

We’ll have Swedish born Greek Helena Paparizou, who won for Greence in 2005 with My Number One; Turkish superstar Sertab Erener, who gave Türkiye its first victory in 2003 with Everyway That I Can; and Sweden’s very own Charlotte Perrelli, who is celebrating the 25th anniversary of her win in 1999 with Take Me To Your Heaven.

Helena Paparizou is enthusiastic about her return to the Eurovision Song Contest, almost 20 years after her win:

“I am more than happy to be back on the Eurovision stage after so many years. Malmö…here I come! Are you ready to sing along with me?”

Helena Paparizou: “Cyprus made me a proposal for Eurovision 2021”!

In the show Tet A Tet that is currently broadcast on Alpha Cyprus and presented by Tassos Tryfonos, the only winner of the Eurovision song contest for Greece, Helena Paparizou, made a very important revelation. According to her, RIK proposed to her to represent Cyprus in the contest this year as well, but she considered that it was not her time this time either.

Helena Paparizou made this revelation a few minutes ago, on the air of the show Tet A Tet, on Alpha Cyprus. The popular singer revealed to Tassos Tryfonos when asked about the Eurovision contest and if she would ever think of returning, that RIK honored her this year as well, proposing her to represent Cyprus in Eurovision 2021, which will be held in a few days at Rotterdam!

The popular Greek artist clarified that the proposal she accepted was not about El Diablo, but another song. After a mature thought, Helena responded negatively to RIK, considering that this year was not her time either.

We remind you that in 2018, RIK had initially addressed Helena Paparizou, in order to interpret Fuego in the competition. Although she entered the process to record it, she finally refused, we would say shortly before the agreement was finalized. The song, after a short stop in Tamta, finally ended up with Eleni Foureira, with the triumphant ending that we all know.

Helena Paparizou never stopped being interested in the contest, as she stated. She would represent either Greece, Cyprus or Sweden and any decision she made would always have to do with the song.

Helena Paparizou spoke with the warmest words about both Elena Tsagrinou and Stefania, predicting that both will have a very good result.

Update:

Although Helena Paparizou did not mention it in her interview, the song that was suggested to her by RIK was Colors that competed in the Croatian national final with Bernarda.

Would you like to see Elena return to the competition? If yes with which country?

Helena Paparizou: “I would return to Eurovision”

Helena Paparizou was invited today at Kalo Mesimeraki, a greek tv show, and revealed to the host of the show, Nikos Moutsinas, that she would like to return on the Eurovision stage. The only condition for her is the existence of a suitable song.

This statement, from the sole yet winner for Greece, adds fuel to the fire of those who claim every year that she’s returning to the contest. It is worth mentioning that such a statement comes only two days after she was declared the winner of Eurovision 2005 at the Eurovision Again Event on Twitter.

More specifically the exact words of hers were:

Had I had the right song, I would be taking part again. Just like the way it happened back in 2005 with My Number One. I remember myself home, sitting at the family table and half of my people were saying not to go to Eurovision, since I was at the beginning of my solo career. I slammed my arms on the table and I said “I’m already there, I’m going!”. I didn’t know, of course with which song. Mentally I was ready to take part to the competition.

It remains to be seen whether Helena’s statements will herald developments for her long-awaited return to Eurovision.

Until then you can enjoy her new song which was released a few hours ago.

Helena Paparizou: The video she sent for her absence from the big Eurovision concert in Amsterdam

Helena Paparizou considered as Greece’s  No. 1 pop singer and the only Eurovision winner on behalf of Greece.

On the night of December 15th, a big concert entitled ‘Het Grote Songfestivalfeest’ took place in Amsterdam and more specifically at the crowded Ziggo Dome Stage, with Eurovision winners and stars such as Johnny Logan, Sandra Kim, Ruslana, Dana International , Loreen and Charlotte Perrelli.

Due to her obligations with “The Voice of Greece”, Helena Paparizou was unable to provide the present, however, she sent her own message through a video. Indeed, during its screening, people gave up Europe’s “Number one” by singing the 2005 song.

Watch below Elena’s video:
