Eurovision 2022: Palace of Venaria to host Opening Ceremony!
The Palace of Venaria has been confirmed as the venue for the Opening Ceremony of the Eurovision Song Contest.
The former Royal residence, the Palace of Veneria has been announced as the venue for the Opening Ceremony for the 66th Eurovision Song Contest. The Palace which was first built in 1675 has been on the UNESCO Heritage List since 1997 and is now the 6th most visited museum in Italy as of 2019.
Guido Curto, director of the Consorzio Residenze Reali Sabaude, confirmed to local RAI news that they will host the Opening Ceremony on May 8. Mayor Fabio Giulivi added:
Eurovision will surely represent a beautiful business card; the city will have to live up to knowing how to exploit it with a series of events that will also be brought to our territory.
The Eurovision Song Contest returns to Italy this year following Måneskin’s victory at the 2021 contest with their song “Zitti e Buoni”. The 2022 contest will be hosted in Turin on 10th, 12th, and 14th May at the PalaOlimpico.
