Armenia: “Snap” has officially surpassed “Brividi” and is now the most streamed song of Eurovision 2022!

We can say that it’s something everyone expected and “Snap”, with more than 2 million streams daily, is now the most streamed song of Eurovision Song Contest 2022 on Spotify, surpassing 110 million streams.

“Snap” by Rosa Linn, didn’t manage to be high in the scoreboard on the Grand Final, but it managed to travel and get streams throughout the whole world, having a place in the charts of more than 40 countries (including the USA and the United Kingdom). 110 million streams and counting, Armenia’s song for this year’s contest is now the song with the most streams from Eurovision 2022 and the ninth most streamed song in the contest’s history!

The TikTok’s dynamics

The above success seems to be related to the even greater singer’s success on TikTok. Prior to the Competition, Rosa Linn had, on her personal TikTok account, 5k followers and 85k likes; today her followers amount to 509k and her likes to 9 mil.

@rosalinnmusic

It is not the first time that TikTok has been used as a springboard by Eurovision artists. The most typical example, perhaps, is Duncan Laurence’s “Arcade”, the winning song of ESC 2019, which, after its delayed success on TikTok, has today exceeded 900 mil. streams, becoming the most successful Eurovision song on Spotify.

Thus, despite the (justified) reactions expressed this year by fans, journalists and correspondents of the ESC, the strategic partnership between the EBU and TikTok (with the latter taking on the role of “Official Entertainment Partner” for Eurovision 2022) does not appear to be an one-off collaboration.

Just a “snap” away from the eighth place of every song in the contest!

It’s just a matter of time before “Snap” is on the eighth place of the list with the most streamed songs of the contest, as “Think About Things”, the song that would represent Iceland in the cancelled 2020 contest, has 119 million streams, around 9 million more streams than “Snap”

Congratulation to Rosa Linn for her huge commercial success!

Armenia: Rosa Linn wants to represent the country next year again!

The 22-year-old singer Rosa Linn is conquering the charts all over the world with her Eurovision viral hit ”SNAP”. Almost three months ago she represented Armenia with that song and unfortunately placed 20th, earning only 61 points, however it is the country’s best result since 2018. A couple of days after the final, it went viral on TikTok and rapidly kept gaining popularity ever since. The song is charting in Latin America and the US, as well as in countries in Africa.

Recently she has spoken to BBC and has said:

I’m from Vanadzor, in Armenia, which you probably don’t know where it is in the world, and I’m so, so happy. As a child I’d dream about this.

Once we hit the one million streams a day I was like ‘Oh My God’, I’m checking my numbers on Spotify every day and I see them grow and I just can’t believe it.

She also has stated that she would love to come back next year for Armenia!

Rosa Linn said she would “love to” represent Armenia next year.

“I really loved everything at Eurovision. I loved it before as a fan, but when you experience it, it’s magical.”

A couple of hours ago on her Instagram account she also announced that she had become officially a signed artist on Columbia Records. People who have recorded for Columbia include Beyoncé, Adele, The Chainsmokers and numerous others.

Eurovision 2022: Armenia’s Second Rehearsal!

Armenia is the third country to rehearse with precious Rosa Linn! There’s a full constructed set for this performance, our first of the day. It’s a white bedroom with walls and furniture that look like they’re made from sticky notes – we’ve just had a chat with the Armenian delegation (sat in the Green Room pod next to us) and they’ve confirmed it’s a reinforced paper structure. The set also rotates (through manpower, rather than an actual rotating stage), which provides a very cool ending. This is what we found out during the first rehearsals.

About The Second Rehearsal

What a gorgeous and touching rehearsal! The performance starts with Rosa Linn sitting on her bed and playing the guitar. She then puts it away and stands up. She’s tearing down some post-it notes and we can see such writings as ”June 22nd”, ”The Last One”, ‘Snap’, heart drawing. In the bridge she tears down the circle you all might have noticed when first rehearsal pictures dropped! A fabulous ending. The camera angles are perfect and the shot with water and lightning is incredible! I’m touched by this rehearsal!

Eurovision 2022: Armenia’s First Rehearsal!

After Subwoolfer from Norway, Rosa Linn from Armenia, is here to ‘SNAP‘ at the Eurovision stage!

Everything about Rosa Linn

Born and raised in Vanadzor, singer-songwriter Rosa Linn will represent Armenia in Turin.

In her own words, Rosa says: ‘From the outside looking in, the odds seemed like they were against me – an unknown girl from a small town in Armenia. But the power of manifestation is real when it is combined with hard work; persistence; and just putting oneself out there. I’m excited to let people into my inner-world through my music.’

Rosa will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of her country’s Junior Eurovision counterpart, Maléna, who won the most recent Junior Contest for Armenia in Paris last December.

The Rehearsal

There’s a full constructed set for this performance, our first of the day. It’s a white bedroom with walls and furniture that look like they’re made from sticky notes – we’ve just had a chat with the Armenian delegation (sat in the Green Room pod next to us) and they’ve confirmed it’s a reinforced paper structure.

Armenia: “All I can say right now is that it’s gonna be very intimate :)” – EurovisionFun interviewed Rosa Linn

Armenia came back to Eurovision Song Contest this year with a very precious representative, whose name is Rosa Linn (Rosa Kostandyan). She will represent the country with a very personal song of hers with her being the main songwriter behind it which is called ‘SNAP‘. EurovisionFun messaged to interview her and the kind-hearted team immediately agreed to arrange the interview.

We asked her several questions and she answered them!

  • Rosa, what is ‘SNAP’ about?

The song was written at a point in time where I was at this snapping point. It’s about being on the verge of giving it all up but in the end, realizing that I could face these difficulties easier and overcome them with a bit more self love.

  • What were your reaction and the reaction of your family members when you told them about being selected to represent Armenia at the biggest music contest?

Being selected has a very deep meaning to me as it’s something I’ve dreamed of since a young age. The last two years were terribly negative for me and my family and my country. I can bring something positive to my country with my participation in ESC and that’s why I was so excited to be selected for this opportunity.

  • You’re one of the artists of Tamar Kaprelian’s label “Nvak Collective”. What made you apply to be part of it?

In 2019 I was playing at a local festival with my band, after our performance their community manager came to me and suggested to apply to a summer songwriting camp. I did. After that I got invited to take part in the same process but in Israel. Since then Nvak has just become my family and Tamar is always someone I have looked to for guidance while navigating this industry.

  • What does the music video symbolize?

The concept was developed by the music video director and it’s about taking the risk, and flying to catch your dreams. When I first was presented with his idea I instantly felt connected to that story and the message really captured exactly what I thought when writing the song. That’s the energy I want to bring to Eurovision!!!

  • Your live performances of ‘SNAP’ at the preparties were fascinating and magical. Were you nervous since those were your first performances in front of big audiences?

I thought I would be. But once I got on the stage and saw the eyes of people in front… it’s like they took the nerves away and I just enjoyed every bit of my performance.

  • Did you make any friendships during the preparties?

All the participants I met were good people which made me really happy. We got close by the end of the promo tours and I already miss them around. I’ve had the chance to keep in touch with some contestants like Sheldon, Ronela, Stefan on socials doing lives and just going back and forth about our shared experiences.

  • Who are your favourites of this year’s contest?

There are a lot of artist that stood out for me this year and I think we have a very strong competition this year (in a positive meaning)… I really believe in Cornelia as an artist, I know that she’ll give us much more after ESC. I think Sheldon has the most beautiful voice. I love MARO and Amanda. Idk each artist is really unique in their own way.

  • Will your staging in Turin be the continuation of the music video or will it be completely different from it?

All I can say right now is that it’s gonna be very intimate 🙂

We wish Rosa Linn all the best!

Armenia: “Snap” was originally submitted for Eurovision 2019!

Rosa Linn has revealed that she first submitted the song she will represent Armenia with in Turin for Eurovision 2019.

The representative of Armenia for Eurovision 2022 revealed that her song “Snap” was originally submitted to compete in the 2019 contest. Through a video in her TikTok account, Rosa Linn unveiled her journey as an artist and with the song she will compete in the contest in Turin in May.

@rosalinnmusic I still can’t believe it 😭 #fypシ #originalsong #eurovision #newmusic #songwriter #armenia ♬ SNAP – Rosa Linn

Speaking about her song, when it was released, she said:

I think we’ve all been at a snapping point, where it felt like there’s no way out and that the entire world is just crumbling down around you. You start questioning everything, including yourself. I have been there. And what I realized was that I had the strength to shape my reality – it just took getting out of my own way and finding inner peace. It’s all about self-love and accepting that you are enough. Writing “Snap” was a form of therapy for me and I hope that it can be that for others who are also going through hard times.

Watch Armenia’s song for Eurovision 2022, “Snap” by Rosa Linn:

Armenia returns Eurovision Song Contest 2022, having withdrawn from the contest in 2021. The public broadcaster decided to return with an internal selection, like in 2019. In their last appearance in the contest, Srbuk ended up 16th in the second semi-final with “Walking Out“, leaving Armenia out of the final for the second year in a row. Athena Manoukian would represent Armenia in 2020 with “Chains on You” in the later cancelled contest.

LYRICS

[Verse 1]
It’s 4 am
I can’t turn my head off
Wishin’ these memories would fade
They never do
Turns out people lie
They say, “Just snap your fingers”
As if it was really that easy for me to get over you
I just need time

[Chorus]
Snapping one, two
Where are you?
You’re still in my heart
Snapping three, four
Don’t need you here anymore
Get out of my heart
‘Cause I might snap

[Verse 2]
I’m writing a song
Said, “This is the last one”
How many last songs are left?
I’m losing count
Since June twenty-second
My heart’s been on fire
I was spending my nights in the ring
Tryna put it out

[Chorus]
So I’m snapping one, two
Where are you?
You’re still in my heart
Snapping three, four
Don’t need you here anymore
Get out of my heart
‘Cause I might snap

[Post-Chorus]
Oh-oh-oh-ooh
‘Cause I might snap
Oh-oh-oh-ooh

[Bridge]
And if one more person says, “You should get over it”
Oh, I might stop talking to people before I snap, snap, snap
Oh, I might stop talking to people before I snap

[Chorus]
Snapping one, two
Where are you? (Where are you?)
You’re still in my heart (Still in my heart)
Snapping three, four
Don’t need you here anymore (Need you here anymore)
Get out of my heart
‘Cause I might snap

[Post-Chorus]
Oh-oh-oh-ooh (Snap)
‘Cause I might snap
Oh-oh-oh-ooh (Snap)
Get out of my heart
Oh-oh-oh-ooh
‘Cause I might snap
Oh-oh-oh-ooh (Get out of my heart, get out of my)
‘Cause I might snap
