Switzerland: Remo Forrer will be joined by four dancers on stage, in Liverpool!

More details of the Swiss stage performance in Liverpool have been revealed, by the Swiss representative himself, Remo Forrer, in a post on his social media.

We already know that Switzerland will have Sacha Jean-Baptiste as the creative director of Remo’s staging performance and we now know who the four dancers that will be joining him on stage for his “Watergun” performanve will be.

The four dancers that will be joining Remo on stage in Liverpool this year will be (from left to right):

  • Lovisa Bengtsson: Lovisa was one of the Cypriot delegation dancers in 2018, joining Eleni Foureira on stage for “Fuego“.
  • Marco Wihlborg: One of the dancers of Alvaro Estrella in his last year’s Melodifestivalen entry “Suave“.
  • Ellinea Siambalis: The 18-year-old Ellinea, who has Greek roots, was a dancer in the following three numbers of this year’s Melodifestivalen, Kiana‘s “Where Did You Go“, Rejhan‘s “Haunted” and Mariette‘s “One Day“.
  • Kenny Lantz: Kenny was one of the Melodifestivalen in-house dancers this year and was also part of the Cypriot performance in 2019, joining Tamta on stage for the song “Replay“.

Who is Remo Forrer?

Remo Forrer was born in 2001 in a small town called Hemberg SG. He started playing the flute from an early age, then he switched to the accordion, and then he ended up at the piano, which is still his favorite musical instrument to this day. In addition, he took voice lessons at a music school. In 2017, he was nominated for the talent show of the central Switzerland, where he received the award of Photographers Choice for the best stage performance. One year later, he won the competition “Sing dein Ding” with an acapella group and he was allowed to appear at the Acapella Festival in Pfaffikon SZ. In 2020, he won The Voice of Switzerland.

Albania: More details for the Eurovision Staging of “Duje”!

Albina shared more details about the staging of her song “Duje“, for the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 in Liverpool.

Speaking on “Më prit në fundjave” on RTSH this past weekend the Albanian representative Albina has spoken about what viewers can expect from her and her families performance at Eurovision 2023.

She explained that Sacha Jean-Baptiste who is the Creative Director for Albania’s performance liked their performance from Festivali i Kenges in December.

For the Eurovision stage, the Albanian performance will feature pyrotechnic effects, lighting and graphics on the screens behind the performance. Albina added that she really wants the power of the song and her voice to be the focus of the performance.

Switzerland: Sacha Jean-Baptiste confirmed as creative director for Remo Forrer!

In a post on the official Instagram account of Eurovision, Remo Forrer, the representative of Switzerland in Eurovision 2023 gave an update on his preparations for the contest.

He revealed that he is currently in Stockholm, rehearsing for his performance in the first semi-final. The director will be a known name in the Eurovision world, Sacha Jean- Baptiste, having directed multiple entries throughout the years.

This will be the fourth consecutive year that Baptiste will direct a Swiss entry, having directed all entries since 2019 (apart from 2020 when the contest was cancelled), with all of them qualifying to the Grand final.

The title of the Swiss entry this year is “Watergun” and you can watch the official video clip below

Albania: With the assistance of Sacha Jean-Baptiste in Liverpool!

Earlier tonight it was announced that the well-known in the Eurovision world choreographer and director Sacha Jean-Baptiste will undertake the set-up of Albania’s participation, namely Albina & Familja Kelmendi with the song “Duje”, on the Eurovision 2023 stage .

This will not be the first time that Sacha Jean-Baptiste undertakes the direction of the Balkan country as the same thing happened in 2021 with the participation of Anxhela Peristeri “Karma” 

As far as the revamp of the song Duje is concerned, it took place with the participation of live musical instruments including 60 bows in a studio in Istanbul. The song will be performed entirely in the Albanian language and will not differ from the version heard at Festivali i Këngës. In addition, in March and April, there is going to be a promotion of the entry in events at Tel Aviv, Barcelona, Madrid, Amsterdam and Warsaw.

Australia: Sacha Jean Baptiste will be the Creative Director for Sheldon Riley!

In an interview with Aussievision, Paul Clarke from Australia’s Eurovision Delegation revealed that Sacha Jean-Baptiste will be the creative director for the performance of Sheldon Riley in Turin. 

Paul, who is Director of Blink TV, SBS’s production partner, said that the team had signed up with Sacha to work with Australia this year after the collaboration they had in Eurovision 2017 and 2018!

“We’ve signed up with creative director Sacha Jean-Baptiste, who is working with us this year, I’m really excited about that. At the moment they are just doing choreography sessions… they are just doing uniform hand movements, they are in a creative fever, they absolutely love each other!”

Sacha-Jean Baptiste is a Swedish choreographer, dancer, and show producer who has worked on over 20 Eurovision entries. These have included iconic performances such as ‘Fuego’ for Cyprus, ‘Beautiful Mess’ for Bulgaria, ‘LoveWave’ for Armenia and ‘Tout l’univers’ with Gjon’s Tears for Switzerland last year. This year we already know that Sacha-Jean Baptiste will be the stage director for Sweden and also Switzerland.

Switzerland: Sacha Jean Baptiste will be the Creative Director for Marius Bear!

Through the official account of Marius Bear, the representative of Switzerland in Eurovision 2022, on Instagram, it was revealed that the preparations for his stage appearance are in progress, with Sacha Jean-Baptiste in charge.

These days, the singer is in Sofia, along with the choreographer for the shooting the live on tape video, the backup live performance of the entries required by all missions.

Switzerland: Sacha Jean-Baptiste directing Gjon’s Tears

Not long ago, in a statement on his official Twitter account, Swiss broadcaster SRF announced Sacha Jean-Baptiste as the director responsible for directing the country’s bid. Sacha will be collaborating with Gjon Muharremaj, world-renowned Gjon’s Tears, to present his best, “Répondez-moi”, at Ahoy Arena in May.

Swedish origin Sacha Jean-Baptiste is no stranger to the Eurovision contest as she has successfully directed many artists such as John Lundvik (Sweden 2019), Luca Hanni (Switzerland 2019), Tamta (Cyprus). 2019), Helen Foureira (Cyprus 2018), Equinox (Bulgaria 2018) as well as Kristian Kostov (Bulgaria 2017).

Who is Gjon’s Tears

Gjon Muharremaj, artistically known as Gjon’s Tears is a Swiss singer and member of the band. He was born in Switzerland to a Kosovar father and an Albanian mother. At an early age, he appeared in the first round of the show, Albania’s Got Talent, in 2010, reaching the final by impressing both the jury and the television audience. In 2019 he took part in the French version of the talent show, The Voice, reaching the semifinals. Then, he released his first single, “Babi”, combining indie-pop music with sounds of Albanian music.
