Armenia: Listen to Saro’s song that was meant for ESC 2022!

As you have heard before, Rosa Linn was chosen to represent Armenia at Eurovision with her song “SNAP” through an internal selection where international&local jury and passionate eurofans from all over Europe as well helped the country to pick the right entry.

Saro Gevorgyan took part in the selection with the song written by Tokionine (by Maléna’s producer) and his wife Suzanna Khanzadian. His song is called ”Wicked Stranger“. You can listen to the song here:

Nevertheless, Armenia managed to score its best result since 2018, qualifying for the first time in a while and being back to the final as they used to be in the past. Rosa Linn safely qualified from the semi-final, where she placed 5th and impressive 3rd with the televoting. In the final, she was 20th with 61 points. Would Saro do better? We can only guess.

Armenia: Details about the internal selection, just before the official announcements!

According to hraparak.am, two singers are in contention to represent the country at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022. The outlet revealed them – their names are Rosa Linn and Saro Gevorgyan.

Pursuant to the rumours, Rosa Linn’s song was written by herself, the team of Tamar Kaprelian worked on the arrangement. The singer is signed to Warner Chappell Music and she’s part of Nvak Collective.

Saro’s song was written by Tokionine. The songwriter previously wrote ‘Walking Out’ by Srbuk, ‘Why’ and the JESC 2021 winning song ‘Qami Qami’. His song is reportedly called ‘I’m falling for you’ (or ‘Dance’). It’s techno, reminiscent of The Weeknd songs.

A song was also sent by Athena Manoukian, but she was eliminated in the first stage of the internal selection. Rumours also tell that Gor Sujyan (Dorians), Artem Valter (he revamped Athena’s ‘Chains On You’) and Miriam (she took part in DE 2020) submitted songs but were eliminated later as well.

Armenia: Dream Team did not finally submit a song for Eurovision 2022!

Yesterday (31/1), the deadline for submitting entries to the public television of Armenia, by the artists who participated in the closed selection for Eurovision 2022, ended. Despite what was rumored in the previous period, the Dream Team did not submit a song.

The winner of last year’s New Wave Festival, Saro Gevorgyan, had traveled to Moscow the previous days to meet Dimitris Kontopoulos and Philipp Kirkorov. Naturally, everyone assumed that the song that Saro would submit to the internal process of Armenia, would be with the signature of Dream Team. However, according to our exclusive information, Dream Team’s decision was not to submit a song, which means that the song submitted by Saro has another composer.

We remind you that the three artists claiming to represent Armenia at Eurovision 2022, apart from the shocking unexpected, are Saro Gevorgyan, Kamil and Athena Manukyan.

The decision on the name of the artist who will represent the country in Turin is expected quite soon, maybe before February 10.

Armenia participates in the Second Half of the First Semifinal of Eurovision 2022, hoping to be in the final for the first time after 2017!

Which artist would you like to see represent Armenia in Eurovision 2022?

Armenia: Here’s some exclusive information about the internal selection!

Armenia returns to the Eurovision Song Contest this year, after being forced to abstain last year due to dramatic developments in Nagorno-Karabakh and after its recent victory at Junior Eurovision 2021. Three artists are in the run to represent the country in Turin, according to local media, with Eurovisionfun giving you more information.

The artists participating in the internal closed selection, which Armenia is holding for Eurovision 2022, will have to submit their candidate songs on the country’s public television by January 31st. Big favourites according to what is said in the media, but also according to our information are the winner of the New Wave Festival 2021 Saro Gevorgyan, the representative of Armenia in Eurovision 2020 that was cancelled Athena Manoukian and the drag queen Kamil!

Athena Manoukian
Athena Manoukian, who lives and works in Greece, but is of Armenian descent from her father, has already submitted her song. According to our exclusive information, this is a song signed and written by the songwriters of El Diablo and it is quite reminiscent in style of Stromae’s Alors On Dense.

Saro Gevorgyan
Saro Gevorgyan is in the recording stage of his own participation. By the summer, Saro had hinted that after his victory at the New Wave Festival, the most important music event for the countries of Eastern Europe, he would try to represent Armenia in the Eurovision Song Contest. Philipp Kirkorov even reinforced these rumors, saying that Saro should participate in Eurovision 2022.

The rumors are coming true, since after the meeting of the young artist with Dimitris Kontopoulos in Moscow a few days ago, now as mentioned in the local press, the song with which he will claim the ticket of Armenia to Turin is being recorded.

The song according to our information is a dynamic ballad, which highlights the range of Saro’s voice, with a melody that easily stays in the listener’s head.

Kamil

Arsen Gryogoryan or the drag queen he plays, Kamil, may be the outsider, but they also claim to represent Armenia in the competition. In 2018, Kamil participated in Depi Evratesil, occupying the fourth place with the song Puerto Rico. Their participation is expected to be unconventional like all their songs.

Exclusive: Dream Team arrives in Moscow for the final preparations before Eurovision 2022

Dimitris Kontopoulos is in Moscow today, together with Elias Kokotos. There they will of course meet Philipp Kirkorov, while they will spend a lot of time in the studio, completing or preparing the projects that they will present at Eurovision 2022.

Russia

It is no secret, Philipp Kirkorov has said on various occasions, that the Dream Team will represent Russia in the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest, except for a shocking surprise. So, at a time when Russian public television is still silent about its intentions in relation to the contest, this trip could not be unrelated to the country’s representation in Turin.

Various names are already rumored, with Klava Koka and Alexander Panayotov at the top of the discussion and scripts. Eurovisionfun is able to know that Dream Team has submitted more than one song to Russia 1 channel and is now in the waiting phase of decisions.

In Russia, which is Christmas today, they like last minute announcements. We remind you that last year it was literally announced that a national final will be held in the last minute, without the participation of the Little Big, something that you first read through Eurovisionfun.

So what is expected is the final recording of these songs submitted by Dream Team on Russia 1 channel, so that everything is ready to move on, as soon as the official announcement is made.

Armenia

Also not a secret is Philipp Kirkorov’s support for Saro Gevorgyan, winner of the last New Wave Festival. Saro, who is at the peak of his career, is considered one of the favorites to represent Armenia at Eurovision 2022.

Armenian public television, after its recent victory in Junior Eurovision, has not yet announced that it will choose its representative in the competition, although most information states that it will make an internal selection, according to the standards followed by ERT.

According to the information on our website, Saro is expected to meet in Moscow with Philipp Kirkorov, Dimitris Kontopoulos and Elias Kokotos, in order to work on the song with which the young artist will claim the representation of Armenia in Turin.

Greece

Finally, it is now a habit for Dimitris Kontopoulos to do the final mixing of the Eurovision songs in which he participates in any way, in one of the best recording studios in Moscow, VI Sound Studios, always with the assistance of Andrey Konoplev, a top sound engineer in Russia.

Given the fact that Amanda will soon be coming to Greece for the shooting of the video clip of the Greek participation and that it should have been completed, you understand that the possibility, the final mix of the Greek entry to take place at VI Sound Studios, is something more than likely.

With a lot of work ahead of them, in view of Eurovision 2022, the Dream Team is preparing for another Eurovision Song Contest.

VI Sound Studios.

Armenia: One of these 4 artists is likely to represent the country in Turin!

Armenia is quiet as per usual and will probably reveal its entry at the last moment. However, according to the speculations and rumours, one of these 4 artists/bands is likely to represent Armenia in the 2022 Contest which will be held in Turin, Italy. Their names are – Ladaniva, Saro Gevorgyan, Athena Manoukian, Brunette.

Ladaniva is a multicultural band creating world music with a fresh touch of Armenian folk and other traditional forms, such as maloya, Balkan, reggae, Arabic, African. The group was founded in October 2019 by Armenian singer Jacqueline Baghdasaryan and French multi-instrumentalist Louis Thomas. Ladaniva is very popular among Armenians. During the tough times, the only thing that would bring happiness to Armenians all over the world was their single ‘Kef Chilini’. Ladaniva would be a fascinating and outstanding choice to represent the country and could easily be in the run to win the televoting in Italy this year.

Saro Gevorgyan is a talented singer and songwriter. In 2016, Saro Gevorgyan took part in the Depi Evratesil show, the Armenian national selection for ESC 2017, where he got into Aram MP3’s team. In 2019, he participated in the Eurovision Song Contest in Tel Aviv as the backing vocalist of Armenia’s participant Srbuk. In 2021, he won the New Wave competition in Sochi, becoming the third participant to bring victory to Armenia in the entire history of its participation. He amazed with his fabulous vocals such big names as Philipp Kirkorov, Dimitris Kontopoulos, Dimash and etc. Saro is very close to the delegation and lately we’ve heard a famous Armenian artist Erik Karapetyan say that Saro is a future Eurovision winner. He could bring an amazing result to Armenia with a modern and emotional ballad!

Athena Manoukian is a Greek-Armenian singer and songwriter. She’s the biggest favourite of eurofans all around the world to represent Armenia in the contest this year. Athena won the Armenian National Selection in 2020 with her song ‘Chains On You’ which automatically became Armenia’s entry for the contest which got cancelled later. Lately, she went to Armenia and as she had mentioned, that trip had something to do with Eurovision. Athena is capable of getting an amazing result with something as modern and catchy as her 2020 entry!

Brunette hails from Yerevan, Armenia. She’s part of Nvak (a non-profit organisation that nurtures artists who live in countries experiencing social, political and/or cultural turmoil) which was founded by Tamar Kaprelian (Armenia ESC 2015, Depi Evratesil 2018). She’s very close with Saro Gevorgyan. Brunette was also rumoured for Depi Evratesil 2020, but unfortunately she wasn’t on the list. This year she’s once again rumoured to be one of the 4 main candidates to fly the Armenian flag in Turin. With a high-quality modern and catchy song the newcomer could possibly bring one of Armenia’s best results if not the best to the country.

The minority of Armenians are also claiming that the winner of the first edition of The Masked Singer Armenia, Erik Karapetyan, Sona Rubenyan and Ani Kristi could be in the run as well. Sadly, there’s no certain information about Armenia but it definitely could arrive later.

Armenia 2022: Saro hints at possible Eurovision participation

Armenian singer Saro Gevorgyan took his Instagram to hint a possible Eurovision participation.  However he did not go as far as confirming that Armenian broadcaster AMPTV internally selected him for Turin.  In any case, the singer seems very interested to represent Armenia in the European competition.

Saro Gevorgyan shared on his Instagram stories a video where we can see Armenian singer Erik Karapetyan.  As a New Wave winner and X-factor jury, Karapetyan is a well known name in the music industry in his country.  In the video shared by Saro, Erik Karapetyan seems to be talking about the Armenian national selection when he says:

Saro is the winner of New Wave and the future winner of Eurovision

Saro shared this comment with his audience.  Nevertheless, he stopped short from confirming his participation on Eurovision 2022.

Saro Gevorgyan won the 2021 edition of New Wave.  He was one of the backing vocalist of Srbuk at the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 in Tel Aviv.  Furthermore, as a winner of New Wave Saro has closed relations with Philipp Kirkorov.  This increases the chances of him being the Armenian representative in the near future.
