Austria: Technical issues were resolved in the Second Rehearsal!

Austria’s Eurovision 2023 representatives Teya and Salena are excited after their second rehearsal on the Liverpool stage.

According to their statements to Austria’s state broadcaster ORF, both the artists themselves and the country’s delegation to the competition are very satisfied and more confident than ever, as the technical problems they encountered in the First Rehearsal have now been resolved.

Speaking to ORF, Teya and Salena stated the following:

“The second rehearsal was much better than the first rehearsal. Everything went well and we are already looking forward to returning to the big Eurovision stage next week. The choreography was better than last time and the problems with the sound were solved. Everything went great!”

The head of the Austrian delegation is also positive after the second rehearsal:

“The second rehearsal went very well, especially because we were able to fix the technical problems. The BBC team did a great job and this made Teya & Salena feel much more comfortable on stage. A lot of changes we wanted after the first rehearsal in terms of the camera shots and LED content were implemented.”

Eurovision 2023: Austria’s Second Rehearsal!

Next up on stage we will be seeing Teya & Salena on their second rehearsal as the representatives of Austria in this year’s competition with “Who the Hell is Edgar?”.

Who are Teya & Salena?

Teya may not be known as a singer yet, but she has been working successfully as a songwriter for some time now. She has participated in several singing camps in Unified Songs, as well as Eurovision.

TEYA’s newest single, “EX ME” is available on all platforms and is released through Unified Records.

24-year-old Salena comes from a big musical family. She lived in Berlin and Cologne due to her extensive recordings and television appearances on The Voice of Germany.

She moved to Vienna in 2019. In addition, she participated in several preliminary rounds for the national Eurovision selection.

In addition to collaborating with professional songwriters/producers from around the world, she participated in Austria’s show “Starmania” 2021. Her debut single is titled “Pretty Imperfection”.

The Rehearsal

Unfortunately this year, accredited journalists don’t get the chance to watch the first and second rehearsals, so we only get the information and content that the organizers officially release to the public.

Teya and Salena look and sound great on their second rehearsal. It’s got a message, it’s got a thumping bassline, it’s got huge vocals, it’s got an insanely polished dance routine that everybody needs to learn immediately, and it’s got the line “Oh mio padre, there’s a ghost in my body” sung like it’s the Vienna Boys’ ChoirThis is such a fun performance.

Austria: Teya and Salena perform at Schönbrunn Palace!

Last night, under the charity “Austria For Life”, this year’s representatives of the country, Teya and Salena, performed their song “Who the hell is Edgar?” in front of the Schönbrunn Palace.

The theme of the charity show is related to the history of Austria and the country’s road to democracy. Therefore the performers’ outfits and the whole stage presence are inspired by the European Renaissance, which actually seems to fit unexpectedly well with the song.
