Cyprus: The message behind Silia’s “Liar”!

Only one day left before the official video clip of the Cypriot entry in Eurovision 2024 will be released. The official music video of ‘Liar’ has been filmed entirely in Cyprus, namely at the City of Dreams Mediterranean resort and the Limassol Marina. It has been ages since a Cypriot Eurovision music video has been filmed on the island, as most of the music videos have been filmed in Greece. The music video has been directed by none other than Kostas Karydas. CYBC has sent a press release about the message behind Silia’s song for Eurovision.

This is exactly the interpretation depicted in the music video of the entry directed by Kostas Karydas that is to be released on all platforms on February 29th 2024. In the said video, which was filmed after many years in Cyprus and more specifically at the City Of Dreams Mediterranean – the new landmark casino resort of the island and at the Limassol Marina, we see through the eyes of the representative of Cyprus Silia Kapsis a series of oppressive situations that a fake world and the negative side of social media often impose.

In the second part of the music video, we see Silia Kapsis reacting to these situations, rocking the boat and daring to live her truth while at the same time inspiring others to follow her in a celebration of liberating oneself from such lies. In the music video one can also see an extremely small part of the dynamic choreography by the distinguished L.A. choreographers Guy Groove and Kelly Sweeney with which “Liar” will be presented on stage in Malmo.

As you read exclusively in Eurovisionfun the video clip will be released tomorrow at 17:00 CET on CyBC’s official website and at 18:00 CET on the Official Eurovision Song Contest Youtube channel.

Cyprus: On February 29 the release of Liar | It’s official!

First, through Eurovisionfun, you read that Liar’s video clip will be released on February 29. A little while ago, CYBC confirmed this information with its official announcement, announcing that the song will be released on the last day of February!

The filming of the video clip of this year’s Cypriot entry took place after years in Cyprus. Specifically in Limassol, on the first weekend of February, Silia Kapsis with her team and under the directorial supervision of Kostas Karydas, filmed the video clip. So the time when we will hear it complete and in its final form is approaching, since on 29/2 the unveiling will take place through the CYBC frequency.

We remind you that the song is composed by Dimitris Kontopoulos and lyrics by Elke Tiel. Silia Kapsis is in Athens and very soon she will begin the final phase of her rehearsals for the demanding choreography she will present to us in Malmö. Greece: The video clip release of “What They Say” is postponed!

The release of the video clip of What They Say, which was scheduled for Monday, March 6 has been postponed.

On Monday, March 6, through ERTFlix, the first presentation of the video clip of the Greek participation for Eurovision 2023 was scheduled to take place.

In the past days Victor Vernicos finished filming the video clip of What They Say and everything was ready for the release of the song. However, the dramatic news with the fatal accident in Tempi, which plunged the whole of Greece into mourning and resulted in all television stations adjusting their programs, could not leave Greek public television unaffected either, which thought that perhaps it would be wiser to postpone for a few days the release of the video clip.

Earlier, the cover of his What They Say single was also revealed on Twitter:

The filming of the video clip has been undertaken by ERT director Yiannis Georgioudakis, while Kostas Kalimeris, Steve Sovolos and Vangelis Gialamas have participated in the production of the song.

As we informed you in a related article, the staging director is the experienced director Konstantinos Rigos (Greece 2011, 2012).

On Monday 6/3, ERT will also know the decision on Melissa Mantzoukis’ application for a temporary injunction, a parameter that may also have been taken into account in the decision to postpone the presentation of the video clip.

The news will be many and interesting, so stay tuned to Eurovisionfun for all the news!

Cyprus: The surprise with Andrew Lambrou’s stage presentation in Liverpool!

Andrew Lambrou is in Athens, where together with the Cypriot delegation, as well as the PANIK Records team, he is in feverish preparations ahead of his participation in Eurovision 2023.

Filming for the video clip

Eurovisionfun got in touch with the people of the Cypriot delegation and we bring you all the latest information. First let’s say that the main reason for Andrew Lambrou’s visit to Athens is the filming of the video clip. While the initial plans wanted RIK to release the Cypriot entry at the end of January, the presidential elections moved any developments back a bit. So, in the next period of time, the filming of the video clip will take place, which according to our information will include both exterior and interior shots.

The director of the video clip will be Giorgos Benioudakis, who has to his credit many collaborations with almost all the popular Greek artists (A. Rammos, K. Argyros, L. Giorkas, S. Rokkos, Claudia, El. Foureira, etc. .).

The surprise with the stage presentation

The surprise held by the Cypriot delegation and coming to turn things around quite a bit are the persons who will be responsible for Andrew Lambrou’s stage presentation in Liverpool.

What we already knew is that this year Marvin Dietmann has taken over as the artistic director of the Cypriot participation for a third time in a row. But the twist we are talking about above is that this time he will not be alone.

Andrew Lambrou’s stage presentation at the M&S Bank Arena will be curated by both Marvin Dietmann and Ross Nicholson from London’s world-renowned directing team, Black Skull!

This group took on directing very large projects and great artists. One of her last jobs was Marco Mengoni’s concert at San Siro, the biggest concert venue in Italy!

When will we hear the song?

At the end of February, the suspense ends, since RIK and PANIK Records plan to publicize this year’s Cypriot song with the simultaneous release of the video clip.

The Cypriot participation hopes for a good result in this year’s contest, while slowly the country is gaining ground in the betting table, which they hope will continue even after the release of the song.

Today at the offices of PANIK Records we had the first meeting of the two representatives of Greece and Cyprus in the Eurovision contest, since for the first time since 2018 the artists representing the two countries belong to the same record label.
