Czech Republic: The Live-on-Tape video of We Are Domi will not be published!

After the Netherlands, the public broadcaster of Czech Republic, gave out the news of them not giving permission to EBU to publish the live-on-tape video of their representatives for Eurovision 2022.

The news were confirmed by the head of press of the Czech delegation through a tweet. Czech Republic was represented by We Are Domi and the song “Lights Off”. The group finished  fourth in the second semi-final, but ended up 22nd in the Grand Final with 38 points.

From June 14 to June 23, the live-on-tape videos for Eurovision 2022 will be published in the official YouTube channel of Eurovision. Those performances were recorded prior to the contest and they would have been used in case the delegation was unable to travel to Turin due to COVID-19 restrictions or if a member of the delegation was diagnosed with COVID while in Turin and couldn’t perform in the live shows.

About 30 live-on-tapes will be published, knowing that Ukraine was excluded from the need of recording one due to the war, but also the Nethebrlands and the Czech Republic decided not to broadcast their videos, seven more countries have not given their permission to publish the videos in question.

Eurovision 2022: Czech Republic’s First Rehearsal!

Today is the fourth day of rehearsals in Turin and now it’s the turn of the countries that are competing in the second half of the Second Semi Final to take over the stage!

Next up on stage for their first rehearsal is Czech Republic and We Are Domi with the song “Lights Off“.

Who are We Are Domi?

What started as a ‘one-time thing’ for a project at Leeds College of Music in 2016, soon morphed into a full-time creative outlet for Dominika, Benjamin and Casper.

Once their studies had been wrapped up, a relocation to Prague allowed the 3 friends to fine-tune their sound and style even further, resulting in the stage-ready We Are Domi we’re lucky to have today.

Their music has been described as alternative electro-pop with hints of indie. To date, they have released 6 singles, with each song having in common the band’s very own blend of those genres, and their passion for pop music in general.

The Rehearsal

We Are Domi have made an extensive use of every light rig in the arena and it somehow looks like lighting one might see to a club.

The second Czech rehearsal will be held on the 6th of May, when we will know how things will appear on screen for the Czech entry.

Czech Republic: We Are Domi Perform Acoustic Version of “Lights Off”

Czech Republic’s Eurovision 2022 artists, We Are Domi, have performed an acoustic version of their competing song, “Lights Off”.

They will perform in 18th position in semi-final two on May 12th.

Their visual performance will be in charge of Matyáš Vorda, while Vítek Bělohradský will be the Stage Director. Both of them have previously worked with a variety of Czech artists including their representatives at Eurovision, Benny Cristo and Lake Malawi, in addition to that they also worked with We Are Domi during the Czech national selection.

The second episode of the EBU’s podcast on the Eurovision Song Contest was released today.

Music presenter and reporter Steve Holden is the presenter of the show! The Eurovision Song Contest Podcast features news and interviews with this year’s artists, iconic Eurovision legends and the people responsible for making the contest happen, those behind the lights and on whom the whole institution relies. At the same time, it offers fans a behind-the-scenes look at Turin and features different voices from all over Europe and beyond.

This week, Steve Holden met up with S10, Brooke, The Rasmus, Citi Zēni, Monika Liu, We Are Domi and Ochman in Amsterdam.

Spain: Watch all the live performances of the artists at the Barcelona Eurovision Party 2022!

Last night the first Eurovision Party took place successfully at the Sala Apolo in Barcelona. More than 18 eurostars attended the Barcelona Eurovision Party 2022. It was the first Eurovision event on Spanish soil, not forgetting that in a few days the PrePartyES will also take place in Madrid.

The hosts of the event were Sharone and Giuseppe di Bella!

Czech Republic: Listen to the final version of “Lights Off” by We Are Domi!

We Are Domi, the representatives of the Czech Republic, released the final version of “Lights Off” for the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 in Turin. 

The final version was heard for the first time in the Romanian final where We Are Domi were invited on March 5. 

Today the song was released on all digital music platforms.

The music video for the Czech entry will be released later this week on March 18, the location of filming the video took place in Prague.

Czech Republic has been drawn to compete in the second half of the second semifinal  (positions 10-18).

Czech Republic: We Are Domi Revealed Their Creative Team For Eurovision 2022!

In December the Czech Republic had their selection to choose their next representative at Eurovision Song Contest and We Are Domi have won it with 21 points. Now they are revealing some news regarding their preparations for the show in Turin.

Their visual performance will be in charge of Matyáš Vorda, while Vítek Bělohradský will be the Stage Director. Both of them have previously worked with a variety of Czech artists including their representatives at Eurovision, Benny Cristo and Lake Malawi, in addition to that they also worked with We Are Domi during the Czech national selection.

We Are Domi explained:

We are starting to deal with people from choreography and outfits and hopefully, soon we will be able to confirm these positions. We are very happy about how the team is coming together and everything is going in an absolutely great direction. It is already obvious that the extra month will really benefit us – the first proposals for the performance are coming in and it is time to think about everything peacefully.

The group has also already confirmed their participation in two Eurovision pre-party events, one of which is Barcelona. They are also hoping to appear in at least one TV show outside of the Czech Republic during the build-up to the contest.

Czech Republic 2022: We Are Domi are preparing for their Eurovision performance

We Are Domi, the electropop band that won the Czech national final for eurovision are already preparing their performance.  The group won their ticket to Turin after competing in Eurovision Song CZ 2022 with the song Lights Off.

We are Domi took their social media to share their plans to their fans and followers.  The band made the following post on Twitter:

We Are Domi are set to represent Czech Republic in the Eurovision Song Contest 2022.  The band won the Czech national final after getting the maximum score from the jurors and the international public vote.  The Czech national final gave the artists the freedom to present their own stage designs for the Eurovision Song Contest in May.  So far no details have been revealed about the team in charge of Domi’s performance.
