Eurovision 2022: Watch the Live-on-Tape performances of Estonia, Romania and Poland!

The live-on-tape of the countries that participated in the 66th Eurovision Song Contest in May in Turin will be shown this year through the official Eurovision channel on YouTube.

From June 14 to 23, Eurofans will have the opportunity to watch the live-on-tape appearances of about thirty of the forty countries that took part in this year’s contest.

Today, it is the turn of two other countries of the first semi-final. Since the EBU decided to show the live-on-tapes based on the running order of the two semifinals, this means that today it is the turn of Estonia, Romania and Poland.

Estonia: Eesti Laul second semi-final tonight!

Estonian selection Eesti Laul 2022 continues tonight with the first semifinal. Two days after the first semi-final of the Estonian selection, ten artists will be competing tonight for their qualification to the Grand Final on February 12th.

Presenters of the semifinal will be singer Maarja-Liis Ilus and actor Priit Loog.

The show will take place tonight at 18:30 CET and will last three hours. You can follow it through the official website of ERR, by clicking HERE.

The participants

Ten artists will compete today in the first semifinal of Eesti Laul 2022, with five advancing to the final. These artists are the following:

1. Jyrise – “Plaksuta
2. Maian – “Meeletu
3. Boamadu – “Mitte kauaks
4. Evelin Samuel – “Waterfall
5. Black Velvet – “Sandra
6. Pur Mudd, Shira – “Golden Shores
7. Jaagup Tuisk – “Kui vaid
8. Minimal Wind ft. Elisabeth Tiffany – “What To Make Of This
9. Stefan – “Hope
10. Anna Sahlene – “Champion

Minimal Wind and Elisabeth Tifany unfortunately will not be performing their song live, since theyn tested positive for Covid-19 a few days ago. They will be competeing with the music video of their entries instead.

Finalists

Five songs advanced from the first semifinal to the grand final of Eesti Laul 2022 which will take place next Saturday, February 12th. These artists are:

Format

In the quarterfinals, five songs (out of ten) from each show were selected to advance to the semifinals. Three songs were chosen by the audience and two by the jury.

In the semifinals, five songs from each show will be selected for the final. The two semifinals have two rounds: the winners of the first round are determined by the jury vote and the votes of the viewers via phone calls and the winners of the second round are decided only by the viewers’ vote, also via phone calls.

In the Grand Final the show will have two rounds of voting: The first round will determine the entries that will qualify to the Super Final, 50% by the jury and 50% by the audience. In the Super Final, the Estonian representative will be selected 100% by the audience.

Estonia: What Spotify streams say about Eesti Laul 2022?

Almost a month separates us from the first semifinal of Eesti Laul 2022 and we took a look at the 20 candidate songs and their popularity on Spotify. There we saw some surprises that could possibly overturn the – until now – predictions!

The ranking of the 20 candidates based on the number of streams is as follows:

Maian, with a large lead, is at the top of the rankings, followed by the duet of Andrei Zevakin and Grete Paia. In third place we find the band Púr Múdd. Fan favorite Stefan is in fourth place, while songs by Eurostars Anna Sahlene, Elina Nechayeva, Stig Rästa and Ott Lepland do not seem to be so popular. Especially, 1999 Estonian representative, Evelin Samuel is just in second to last place.
