Germany: The first preview of the songs of the Eurovision Song Contest – Das Deutsche Finale 2024!

As we previously informed you in one of our articles, the revelation of the artists participating in the Eurovision Song Contest – Das Deutsche Finale 2024 will take place on January 19. Just before the announcement of the hopefuls heading to Malmö, Germany’s public broadcaster, NDR, has provided initial information about the songs that will be part of the national final, thanks to a first preview by German citizens.

Listening to the songs, the German audience commented:

  • “Sounds like Elvis”

  • “A face like Helge Mark”

  • “Leather jacket”

  • “Bon Jovi vibes”

  • “James Dean”

  • “A mix of very gay and very heterosexual”

  • “Pop Rock”

  • “Guitar, drums, bass”

  • “Lively, captivating, fast”

  • “Lovely, but indistinct English song singing about an ’empty bank account'”

Details about the next stages of evaluation and the final selection of songs for the Eurovision Song Contest – Das Deutsche Finale 2024 will be announced in the coming days.

Out of the 693 submitted songs, artists participating in the German national final were selected during the Christmas period. Among them are 475 solo acts, 71 duets, and 127 bands.

The Eurovision Song Contest – Das deutsche Finale 2024 is scheduled for February 16, 2024, at 21:00 CET. It will be broadcast live from Berlin on Das Erste, eurovision.de, and the ARD Mediathek. The winner will earn the opportunity to fly to Malmö and represent Germany in the 68th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest in May.

Germany finished in the last position in the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 with Lord of the Lost and the song “Blood and Glitter.”
