Latvia: Meet the hosts of Supernova 2024!
As the excitement builds for Latvia‘s Eurovision journey, the stage is set for a spectacular event with the announcement of this year’s Supernova 2024 hosts – the dynamic duo, Ketija Šēnberga and Lauris Reiniks! Save the date for the live semi-final on February 3, where 15 outstanding artists will compete for the chance to represent Latvia in Malmö, Sweden.
Get ready for a power-packed hosting duo at Supernova 2024 – none other than the talented Ketija Šēnberga and Lauris Reiniks! Ketija, a seasoned host, will take on this role for the seventh time (previously in 2015, 2016, 2019, 2020, 2022, and 2023). Lauris, who represented Latvia in the 2003 Eurovision Song Contest as part of F.L.Y. (Hello From Mars), will return as a host for the third time (previously in 2022 and 2023). This marks their third consecutive year hosting the Latvian Eurovision selection process, bringing their vibrant energy to the quest for Latvia’s representative on the Eurovision stage.

The 2024 Supernova semi-final promises musical diversity, featuring carefully selected artists and their songs:
The 15 artists and songs we will see in the Supernova semi-final are:
- Agnese Rakovska – “AI”
- Alekss Silvers – “For the Show”
- Avéi – “Mine”
- “B/H” – “Amsterdam”
- Dons – “Hollow”
- Ecto – “Outsider”
- Edvards Strazdiņš – “Rock n’ Roll Supernova”
- “Funkinbiz” – “Na Chystu Vodu”
- “Jar of kings” – “Wildfire”
- Katrīna Gupalo – “The Cat’s Song”
- “Papīra Lidmašīnas” – “Mind Breaker”
- Patrīcija Spale – “Heaven’s Raining Down on Me”
- St Levića – “Tick Tock”
- Sasha Sil – “Love is a Language”
- “Vēstulēs” – “Kur?”
Among the 15 artists we see well-known names such as Dons, the pop star of latvia where he will participate for third time in Supernova and Agnese Rakovska who was the representative of Latvia in 2017. Also participating again are Alekss Silvers, Avéi and Katrīna Gupalo.
In the semi-final, the audience will have the opportunity to meet the participants and evaluate the performance of the songs live for the first time, while in the final they will choose the winner of the competition. Both in the semi-final and the final, the role of the audience and the jury will be equally important. The Winner will be determined by the total score of the public calls and texts and the vote of the jury.
The Supernova 2024 schedule is as follows:
- Semi-final – 03 February
- Final – 10 February
Sudden Lights represented Latvia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 with their song “Aija” and finished 11th in the semi-final.
