Sweden: Danny Saucedo was forced to scale-down planned Melodifestivalen stage show?

On a previous article earlier today, you read my comments about this week’s songs, including Danny Saucedo‘s song, “Happy That You Found Me“.

Danny Saucedo should be alone on stage, singing on his own. According to SVT‘s excellent encyclopedia, carefully put-together facts by Mello-expert Gustav Dahlander, Mellopedia, his stage show will consist of an archway and a staircase, a projector and on the LED screens another staircase and two arches. Sun and cosmic patterns.

According to journalist and Mello-expert Tobbe Ek and Aftonbladet, there have been rumours that the original plans for Danny‘s staging were somewhat different. They were said to have been something out of the ordinary in terms of magnificence.

But apparently the cost was far too expensive. Gradually, it has been scaled down, got simplified. landed in a more reasonable budget in times of inflation and savings. But would this cost him less in terms of budget, but at the same time pose a risk to him winning this year’s Melodifestivalen? Could my comment that he could potentially place second again be true?

Someone with a good insight behind the scenes commented:

“If you know what he would have done if he could, it doesn’t feel so impressive anymore.”

Having those rumours in mind, there’s a risk that Danny will once again be a runner-up. There are acts that are strong contenders for the win, like Marcus & Martinus, Medina, Smash Into Pieces, Liamoo and Jacqline.

Maybe it is good that we don’t know what was initially planned. In case we did, it would feel like last year when we got to see Loreen‘s staging in Liverpool, which, due to technical constraints, was very underwhelming. This, however, didn’t cost Loreen her victory.
