“Teresa & Maria” is officially Ukraine’s Eurovision 2024 entry!

Ukraine‘s entry for the forthcoming Eurovision Song Contest was selected through Vidbir 2024, which was held last Saturday. However, because of technical difficulties with the voting process, the results were not made public until one day later. Alyona Alyona and Jerry Heil were the winners and therefore representatives of Ukraine, with the song “Teresa & Maria”.

The representation of Ukraine by “Teresa & Maria” became official today, following the signing of the necessary documents by the artists and the country’s public broadcaster,

Disagreements between the winners of Vidbir and the Ukrainian public television in 2019 and 2022 resulted in these documents not being signed, which in turn caused the country’s representative to be replaced. More precisely, despite placing second in the national final, Kalush Orchestra took Alina Pash‘s position in 2022. Accordingly, Maruv‘s refusal to sign the respective contracts, due to their restrictive terms, led to Ukraine’s withdrawal from Eurovision 2019.
