Germany: NDR will remain the responsible broadcaster for Eurovision!

It is now official that despite the discussions that took place during the season, NDR will remain the responsible broadcaster of Germany’s participation in Eurovision, within the ARD network.

The German broadcaster confirmed its participation and involvement in the Contest, earlier at ESC Kompakt, and thus all talks about a change of broadcaster is now a thing of the past. NDR has been responsible for the country’s participation since 1996, and will officially be responsible for the Eurovision Song Contest 2025.

This news certainly come as a bit of a surprise, since throughout the year, various German media talked about an upcoming change of broadcaster, and specifically that MRD will take over the participation.

Certainly the disappointing results of Germany in recent years, as well as the negative criticism that this year’s national final received, were some of the major reasons in making a possible change.

However, Isaak’s 12th place in Malmö (Germany’s second best result in ten years) seems to have stopped those plans, at least temporarily.

Stay tuned on Eurovisionfun for all the news regarding the German participation at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025, in Switzerland!
