United Kingdom: Eurovision winner Martin Lee from Brotherhood of Man dies at age 77!

The Eurovision community has some sad news to share. The 77-year-old British singer and member of Brotherhood of Man, Martin Lee, passed away on Sunday due to heart failure. With the song “Save All Your Kisses For MeBrotherhood of Man, represented the United Kingdom in the 21st Eurovision Song Contest in 1976. The British group finished in first place with a total of 164 points.

Lee’s bandmates Lee Sheridan, Sandra Stevens and Nicky Stevens shared: 

Over the past 50 years the four of us have toured the world together in harmony and have so many happy memories, but now we are in total shock and cannot imagine a world without Martin Lee.

“Save All Your Kisses For Me” and Brotherhood of Man

The definite line-up of the British band was formed in 1973 and consisted of Martin Lee, Lee Sheridan, Sandra Stevens and Nicky Stevens. In the middle to late 1970s, this lineup of the group went on to have numerous international hits, such as “Figaro,” “Oh Boy (The Mood I’m In),” “Kiss Me Kiss Your Baby,” and “Save Your Kisses for Me.” With three number one singles and four top twenty albums, they may have experienced their greatest success in their home country of the UK. The group performed all over Europe, until 2020. They have put out 16 studio albums in total, selling over 15 million copies worldwide.

Their Eurovision winning song, “Save All Your Kisses For Me,” is among the best-selling Eurovision winners ever. Actually, the song became a global hit, peaking at number one on charts across several European nations and enjoying modest success in the US. Furthermore, “Save All Your Kisses For Me” is the most successful winner ever statistically speaking, based on the percentage of points it received up to the maximum amount possible.
