Eurovision 2025: Hosts of the Semi-Final Allocation Draw Announced
The hosts for the Semi-Final Allocation Draw of the 69th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest have been revealed. According to the Swiss newspaper Blick, SRF presenter Jennifer Bosshard and Jan van Ditzhuijzen will host the ceremony, set to be broadcast live at 12:30 CET on January 28.
The draw officially marks the start of Basel’s time as the host city for the Eurovision Song Contest. Traditionally, the keys of the previous host city, in this case, Malmö (Sweden), are handed over to the new host. Jennifer Bosshard hinted that this year’s handover will have a unique twist:
It will be a little different this year. But I can’t reveal more than that.
The event is being produced by students from the “Multimedia Production” department of the Graubünden University of Applied Sciences.
The draw will determine which Semi-Final each participating country (excluding the Big Five and host country Switzerland) will perform in. Additionally, it will decide the Semi-Final in which the Big Five (France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the United Kingdom) and Switzerland will broadcast their performances and cast their votes.
