Luxembourg: Laura Thorn will represent the country in Eurovision 2025 with “La poupée monte le son”!

Just a while ago, Luxembourg Song Contest, the Luxembourgish national selection for Eurovision 2025, was concluded. Luxembourg Song Contest served for another year as the country’s selection method for Eurovision and was broadcasted live from Rockhal in Esch-sur-Alzette.

Hosted by Raoul Roos, Loïc Juchem and Conchita Wurst and following the combination of votes from eight international juries and an online vote operating both inside Luxembourg and internationally, Laura Thorn was crowned as the winner with her song “La Poupée Monte le Son“.

79 entries were submitted to the Luxembourgish broadcaster, out of which seven entries were advanced to the televised final following live auditions aiming for the Luxembourgish representation in Basel. The seven competing songs were revealed on December 19 and are the following:

2. Rhythmic Soulwave – ”Stronger”
3. Luzac – “Je Danse”
4. One Last Time – “Gambler’s Song”
5. MÄNA – “Human Eyes”
6. Laura Thorn – “La Poupée Monte le Son”
7. ZERO POINT FIVE – “Ride”

Luxembourg Song Contest 2025 – in detail

Rafa Ela – “No Thank You”

What a wonderful start! An uptempo song with an energetic performance. Rafa Ela gives her all in her second LSC attempt. Graphics, choreography, vocals – all on point. Great effort!

Rhythmic Soulwave – ”Stronger”

A strong performance. Fantastic energy and vocals. The blue confetti that fell from the ceiling and the blue butterfly decorations on the lead singer’s black outfit that blended with the graphics was a great add-on.

Luzac – “Je Danse”

An energetic performance by Luzac. Well choreographed, cool graphics and it gave “Amazing” vibes by Danny Saucedo at times. However, we were not particularly convinced by Luzac’s vocals.

One Last Time – “Gambler’s Song”

ONL return to LSC for the second time and they can proudly say they have taken part in all LSC edition – hahaha. Cool graphics here as well and a good performance overall. Nice try!

MÄNA – “Human Eyes”

MÄNA is accompanied by four female vocalists and they are all dressed in white. A touching performance by MÄNA who sets her eyes on the Luxembourgish representation in Basel. Vocally she struggled at times but it was overall a beautiful performance.

Laura Thorn – “La Poupée Monte le Son”

It’s time for the big favorite of the night. A straightforward tribute to France Gall’s winning entry from 1965, the performance starts with images of Luxembourg’s first ever winner. Well choreographed, Laura acts like a marionette and vocally she excels it.

ZERO POINT FIVE – “Ride”

ZPF were the ones to close the show. The performance and the vibe scream country music and the band’s chemistry is obvious.

The voting process

A total of eight international juries along with an online vote decided in equal shares who would fly the Luxembourgish flag in Basel.

Jurors from The Netherlands, Poland, Ireland, Malta, Finland, Spain, Estonia and Switzerland casted their votes.

1. Laura Thorn – 94 points
2. Luzac – 62 points
3. Rhythmic Soulwave – 52 points
4. One Last Time – 40 points
5. MÄNA – 36 points
6. Rafa Ela – 36 points
7. ZERO POINT FIVE – 16 points

Laura Thorn topped the international juries voting, having received the top mark from all juries except one (Estonia), while Luzac and Rhythmic Soulwave followed in the second and third place respectively.

1. ZERO POINT FIVE – 110 points
2. Laura Thorn – 90 points
3. One Last Time – 39 points
4. Luzac – 31 points
5. Rhythmic Soulwave – 29 points
6. MÄNA – 20 points
7. Rafa Ela – 17 points

ZERO POINT FIVE topped the online vote, with Laura Thorn and One Last Time following in the second and third place respectively.

The winner

Following the combination of the above and with a total of 184 points, Laura Thorn was crowned as the winner of Luxembourg Song Contest and will therefore serve as the country’s representative in the 69th Eurovision Song Contest that will take place in Basel in May.
