Sweden: The general rehearsal of the Second Heat of Melodifestivalen 2025!

The general rehearsal of the 2nd Heat of Melodifestivalen 2025 has just come to an end at Scandinavium in Göteborg, Sweden. We are happy to be watching it live through the virtual accreditation and we will be covering this rehearsal, describing in detail what is happening during the show, for you to follow the entire process.

The show

  • Nomi Tales – “Funniest Thing”

The opening of tonight’s dress rehearsal is performed by Nomi Tale with a special participation in indie-pop style. At the beginning, she is alone on stage with smoke and a white veil in her hair, until the chorus in which a forest in red and gold colors is revealed on the LED screens. Along the way, 6 dancers appear through the smoke and in the last part, intense air is added, giving greater dynamics to the performance. She herself has very good vocals and especially in the last part where the song acquires a different dynamic and is quite vocally demanding! It’s giving Lorde and this will definitely stand out tomorrow.

  • Schlagerz – “Don Juan
And officially we have the first classic schlager entry in this year’s Melodifestivalen! The three performers are separately on a podium, in a retro style with intense black and white and purple lighting. Stage-wise we don’t see anything very impressive, with the exception of the last part of the song, where there is the classic and beloved key change and intense fireworks on stage.

  • Erik Segerstedt – “Show Me What Love Is

A highly professional performance by Erik Segerstedt, who starts on a piano with live musicians on stage. He is very comfortable and has a pretty good vocal. In the last part of the performance, he and the musicians walk through the audience and end up on the small main stage in the middle of the arena while confetti floods the arena at the moment of the big note that Erik Segerstedt performs with absolute ease. Definitely a performance that will be in the top positions of tomorrow’s semi-final.

  • Klara Hammarström – “On and On and On

One of the big favorites of this year’s competition returns once again to Melodifestivalen! “On and On and On” is a classic pop song that is strongly reminiscent of Eurovision! Klara starts alone on stage on a pillar-shaped podium while she is then flanked by dancers in a modern choreography. In the bridge of the song, she is lying on the stage, with the LED screens creating a spinning clock. At the end we have a demanding vocal part that she unfortunately did not manage to give 100%. She will definitely go direct to the final, but it is unlikely that she will manage to get the golden ticket to Basel!

  • Fredrik Lundman – “The Heart of a Swedish Cowboy

Another familiar and particularly popular genre of music for the Swedes is country and here we have a pure country participation. Fredrik Lundman is alone on stage with a special direction, as the LED screens are in a special shape throughout the song with intense images that refer to the “Wild West”! Vocally he is very good and may be the surprise for the second chance round!

  • Kaliffa – “Salute

The last entry of the third semi-final is his, with a highly uplifting song that strongly reminds of Medina’s previous entries. Accompanied by dancers, they offer an uplifting show to the audience, with the screens having an intense tropical climate in a colorful style. He is on a podium almost throughout the entire appearance, while at the end we see confetti added at the moment of the beloved and anticipated key change.

A prediction

After watching the general rehearsal, I personally believe that Klara Hammarström and Kaliffa will go directly to final and Erik Segerstedt will remain in the contest for another chance after the end of heat 5!
