Luxembourg: Songwriting camp to take place for Eurovision 2025!

As it seems, another country is going to organize a songwriting camp, with the aim of creating songs for the Eurovision Song Contest 2025.

This time, Luxembourg is ready to organize such a camp, as the search for the country’s next representative has already begun.

The camp is organized by Rocklab, in collaboration with Kultur lX, Arts Council Luxembourg, Sacem Luxembourg and FLAC (Federation of Artists and Composers of Luxembourg) and will take place from the 27th to 30th of September at Rockhal.

Artists will have the opportunity to collaborate with local and international composers and producers, to create songs for the Luxembourg Song Contest and of course Eurovision 2025. Some of the confirmed participants are:

  • Greig Watts: he is part of the UK based writing, production and publishing team DWB. In recent years, he has successfully hosted several songwriting camps, and the triumph of these camps and the songs they produced has established him as an expert in the fields of songwriting for the Eurovision Song Contest. Since 2016, he has supervised 14 Eurovision entries, along with approximately 60 national finalists. Notable entries include “Flashlight” (Polish Eurovision Entry 2017), “Cleopatra” (Azeri Eurovision Entry 2020), and “Je Me Casse” – Destiny (Maltese Eurovision Entry 2021).
  • Imad Eljattari: founder of LinkinTrax, a Belgium-based company operating in the international songwriting camps field. Imad participated in national finals in countries such as Germany, Belgium, Romania, and Luxembourg, with many other submitted songs reaching the top selections of local contests. Notable song entries include: Aledaida – “Bla Bla Bla” (Romania), Hunter Falls – “Ooh La La” (Belgium), Loredana – “Dream in Colours” (Belgium), One Last Time – “Devil in the Detail” (Luxembourg, and Leona – “Undream You” (Germany).
  • Pete Barringer: Co-writer and producer of “Je Me Casse” (Malta 2021), Co-writer and producer of “Flashlight” (Poland 2017), Co-writer and producer of “My Turn” (Czechia 2017).
  • Maria Broberg: Co-writer for “Stay” (Moldova 2019), Co-writer and backing singer for “Solo” (Poland 2023).
  • Linda Dale: Writer of “The Code” (Switzerland 2024)
  • Simon Davis: Co-writer and producer of “Undream you” (German national finalist 2024)
  • Abi F Jones: Co-writer of “Lights Off” (Czechia 2022)
  • Udo Mechels: Eurovision experience includes Belgian 2014 finals (Udo – “Hero”), Romanian 2018 finals (Teodora Dinu – “Fly”), Romanian 2019 finals (Teodora Dinu – “Skyscraper”), Belgian 2023 finals (Loredana – “You Lift Me Up”).
  • Ali Reza: Producer working in Kpop and EDM.
  • Bruce R F Smith: Co-writer of “My Impossible Dream” (Netherlands 2005), Co-writer of “Devil In The Detail” (Luxembourg National finalists 2024).

It seems that there are more and more songwriting camps that take place all over Europe and aiming for the Eurovision Song Contest. The fact that Nemo’s song “The Code” was created in such a camp makes this way of writing songs for the Contest more and more popular.

Songwriting camps for Eurovision 2025 were held in various countries, such as Malta, Norway, Latvia and Greece.

Luxembourg returned to the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 after 31 years and was represented by Tali and her song “Fighter” who ended up in 13th place:
