Portugal: Festival da Canção confirmed as selection method for Eurovision 2025 | Submission window opened today!

For yet another year, Festival da Canção will serve as Portugal‘s selection method for the Eurovision Song Contest 2025. The submission window for those interested already opened today, and will last until October 15th.

As usual in recent years, a mix of submitted songs and invited composers will take part in the national final. Six entries will be selected from the submitted songs, while the remaining 14 will be from creators invited directly by RTP, the country’s public broadcaster. The selection is open to Portuguese people and Portuguese residents.

The festival will consist of two semi-finals that will take place in February and a Final that will take place in March. More information will be announced at a later time.

This year Portugal was represented by iolanda, who ended up in 10th place with the song “Grito” while at the same time she gave Portugal its fourth consecutive participation in the Grand Final, something the country has never achieved before:
