MESC 2025 – The participants
The following 24 artists will take part in the semi-finals of MESC 2025 and therefore compete for the Maltese representation in Basel:

- “Still I Rise” – Justine Shorfid
- “Rubble & Stone” – The Alchemists
- “Unheard” – Krista Šujak
- “Love Me Loud” – Kelsy Attard
- “Festa (No Time for Siesta)” – JVF (Jessika, Victorio, Fabrizio)
- “Wildflower” – Marie Claire
- “Miegħek Biss” – Kurt Anthony Cassar
- “Silenced” – Raquela Dalli

Among the participants of this year’s MESC, we find two former Eurovision contestants who have teamed up, aiming to return to the Eurovision stage. Fabrizio Faniello, who represented Malta in 2001 and 2006, is collaborating with Jessika, known for representing San Marino in 2018. Together with Victorio, they are setting their sights on Eurovision once again.
Also making a comeback to the MESC stage is Kurt Calleja, Malta’s representative in 2012.
MESC 2025 – Analysis
Along with the former Eurovision participants, the list also includes the X Factor Malta judge Alexandra Alden who makes her debut in the festival with the song “Magnolia.” Kantera, known for their success in Mużika Mużika 2024 where they placed second, will also take part with their song “LalaRataTakeke LalaRataKabum.”
The runner-up of X Factor Malta, Justine Shorfid, is also in the semifinals with her song “Still I Rise.”

- Nathan Psaila with “Concrete”
- Miguel Bonello with “Breaking the Cycle”

- Haley Azzopardi with “Whistleblower”
- Victoria Sciberras with “Juno.”
Meanwhile, fresh talent includes:
- Kristy Spiteri with “Heaven Sent”
- Matthew Cilia with “Control”
- Dre’ Curmi with “Te Amo”
- Martina Borg with “Yo Listen”
- Krista Šujak with “Unheard”
- Kurt Anthony Cassar with “Miegħek Biss.”
This year will also feature two local bands:
- The Alchemists with “Rubble & Stone”
- Adria Twins with “Qalb ma’ Qalb.”
MESC 2025 will consist of two semi-finals, on February 4th and 6th, while the Grand Final will take place on February 8th.
In this year’s contest in Malmö, Malta was represented by Sarah Bonnici and her song “Loop”. Unfortunately, it did not qualify for the Grand Final. Therefore, the country finished dead last in its semifinal (2nd semifinal) for the second consecutive year, while missed the spot for the final for the third year in a row.
