Sweden: The Second Heat of Melodifestivalen 2025 Unfolds Tonight!
The journey to Sweden’s Eurovision 2025 representative continues tonight with the second heat of Melodifestivalen 2025! The host country of Eurovision 2024 is aiming for a record-breaking eighth victory, and SVT has promised one of the strongest editions of Melfest ever.
From February 1st to March 8th, Melodifestivalen 2025 will dominate the Eurovision season, keeping fans on the edge of their seats!
New Format for 2025
This year, Melodifestivalen features a revamped format:
- There are five heats, each featuring six artists.
- The top two acts from each heat will qualify directly for the Grand Final on March 9th.
- The third-place finishers will enter a special voting round after the final heat, with the two most popular acts securing the last two Grand Final spots.
- In the heats, results are decided solely by the Swedish public.
- In the Grand Final, voting will be 50% Swedish public and 50% international jury, following Eurovision-style voting rules.

Heat 1 – Feb 1 | Coop Norrbotten Arena, Luleå
Heat 2 – Feb 8 | Scandinavium, Gothenburg
Heat 3 – Feb 15 | ABB Arena Syd, Västerås
Heat 4 – Feb 22 | Malmö Arena, Malmö
Heat 5 – March 2 | Husqvarna Garden, Jönköping
Grand Final – March 9 | Strawberry Arena, Stockholm – Solna
Who’s Already in the Final?
Following the first heat, these two acts have already secured their spot in the Grand Final:
- John Lundvik – “Voice of the Silent”
- Maja Ivarsson – “Kamikaze Life”
Meanwhile, the third-place act from Heat 1 has earned a second chance:
- Meira Omar – “Hush Hush”

Six new artists take the stage in Heat 2, performing in the following order:
- Nomi Tales – “Funniest Thing“
- Schlagerz – “Don Juan“
- Erik Segerstedt – “Show Me What Love Is“
- Klara Hammarström – “On and On and On“
- Fredrik Lundman – “The Heart of a Swedish Cowboy“
- Kaliffa – “Salute“
