Australia: Internal Selection for Eurovision 2025!

As time goes by, Eurovision Song Contest 2025 seems to be closer and closer, so a lot of countries tend to reveal their entries or to publish interesting information about them. One of these countries is Australia, as well.

Just a few minutes ago, the Australian public service broadcaster, Special Broadcasting Service (SBS), confirmed that the entry for Eurovision 2025 in Basel, Switzerland has already been internally selected, both the artist and the song.

Internal selection is not an unknown procedure for SBS, since the majority of the Australian entries have been chosen in this way throughout the years, except 2019, 2020 and 2022, when the national final Eurovision – Australia Decides was held.

The broadcaster has not confirmed yet the exact date on which the song is expected to be revealed. However, it will be announced before the deadline in March.

Moreover, SBS announced that expressions of interest for representing Australia in Eurovision 2026 are welcomed as well and they can all be sent to entertainment@sbs.com.au.

Last year Australia was represented by Electric Fields at the Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö, where they performed “One Milkali (One Blood)” failing to qualify to the Final, since they finished 11th in the First Semi-Final with 41 points. Take a look:
