Sweden: The Fourth Heat of Melodifestivalen 2025 Takes Place Tonight!

One of the most anticipated national selections of the season continues tonight as Sweden pushes forward with its quest for an unprecedented eighth Eurovision victory! With Melodifestivalen 2025 in full swing, SVT promises a spectacular show, ensuring that the host country of Eurovision 2024 remains a powerhouse in the competition.

From February 1st to March 8th, Melodifestivalen 2025 will dominate the Eurovision calendar, delivering high-quality performances and intense competition. Tonight, it’s time for the fourth heat, live from Malmö Arena!

A Revamped Format – How It Works

This year’s Melodifestivalen has undergone a format change, featuring five heats instead of the traditional four. Here’s how it works:

Each heat features six artists.
The top two from each heat qualify directly for the Grand Final on March 9th.
The third-placed acts will enter a second-chance vote after the fifth heat, where the two most popular will also advance to the final.

Voting Process: During the heats, the Swedish public is in full control, as results are determined exclusively by televote. However, in the Grand Final, the winner will be chosen through a 50/50 voting system, with half the votes coming from Swedish viewers and the other half from an international jury, following the Eurovision format.

Sweden at Eurovision – Can They Secure an 8th Win?

Last year, Marcus & Martinus won Melodifestivalen 2024 with “Unforgettable”, finishing 9th at Eurovision with 174 points. With Sweden currently tied with Ireland at 7 victories, will Melodifestivalen 2025 produce a winning formula that could bring home a record-breaking 8th victory?
