Iceland: The Söngvakeppnin 2025 Grand Final Takes Place Tonight!
After weeks of intense competition, Iceland is just hours away from selecting its representative for Eurovision 2025! The Grand Final of Söngvakeppnin 2025 will take place tonight, with six artists battling it out for the golden ticket to Basel, Switzerland.
Söngvakeppnin 2025 – The Journey So Far
This year’s Icelandic national selection has followed a three-show format, consisting of:
✅ Two semifinals featuring five artists each.
️ Three artists from each semifinal, determined by Icelandic televote, qualified for tonight’s Grand Final.
That leaves us with six finalists who will now compete for the chance to fly the Icelandic flag in the 69th Eurovision Song Contest!
How the Winner Will Be Decided
Tonight’s Grand Final will feature a two-round voting process:
Round 1: The winner will be jointly decided by a combination of Icelandic televote and an international jury. The top two artists from this round will move on to the Super Final.
Round 2 (Super Final): The Icelandic public takes full control! The final winner will be determined based on a combination of votes from both rounds, ultimately deciding who will represent Iceland at Eurovision 2025.
Language Rule: All songs were performed in Icelandic during the semifinals. However, for the final, artists have the option to perform their English versions, mirroring what they may choose to sing at Eurovision.
