Ireland: Adgy is the third confirmed artist for Eurosong 2025!

The national broadcaster of Ireland, RTÉ, revealed the third name who is going to take part in Eurosong 2025, the national contest through which the country is going to select their entry for the 69th Eurovision Song Contest, the coming May, in Basel, Switzerland.

Adgy is the third confirmed name who is going to claim the representation of Ireland in Eurovision 2025, through Eurosong 2025, that is going to be inclued in the The Late Late Eurosong Special” show, scheduled for 7th of February. The title of his entry is “Run into the Night”.

Adgy is making a bold return with a fresh sound and a mission to represent Ireland at this year’s Eurovision, which will take place in Basel, Switzerland, next May. His new single, Run into the Night, is a Celtic pop anthem written by Adgy and produced by Eurovision legend Ivan Klymenko (Kalush – Stefania, the 2022 winner (Ukraine)).

The Donegal-born singer-songwriter performed on Eurosong 2023 with his track Too Good For Your Love, and since then has taken some time to develop his music and grow as an artist.

After Eurosong 2023, he went traveling and eventually made his way back to London, where he has been writing music for the past year.

A prolific songwriter with over 12 million streams, a deal with Universal Music Group, and a publishing deal with Spirit BMG under his belt, Adgy draws inspiration from his roots in the Donegal Gaeltacht.

His entry “Run into the Night” is going to be released later in the day.

Junior Eurovision 2025: Ireland confirms participation!

Ireland will continue its journey in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2025, as TG4 has confirmed the country’s participation in the upcoming edition, marking Ireland’s tenth appearance in the competition. Since debuting in 2015, Ireland has taken part in every edition of Junior Eurovision, with the exception of 2020.

Although no details have been released yet about how the Irish entry will be selected, it’s expected that Junior Eurovision Éire will remain the national selection show for choosing Ireland’s contestant in 2025.

Junior Eurovision 2025

Shortly after Georgia‘s victory in Madrid, GPB announced that the country would host the next edition of Junior Eurovision in 2025. However, official statements from the EBU regarding the event’s full details, such as dates and locations, are expected to be released at a later stage.

As of now, several countries have already confirmed their participation in the 23rd Junior Eurovision Song Contest, including:

  • Georgia – GPB (Host Country)
  • Netherlands – AVROTROS
  • North Macedonia – MRT
  • San Marino – RTV San Marino
  • Poland – TVP
  • Italy – RAI
  • Ireland – TG4

Enya Cox Dempsey was Ireland’s representative at Junior Eurovision 2024 with her song “Le chéile”, placing fifteenth.

Reylta’s music is described as being “rooted deeply in Irish tradition and heritage”. She has been performing with her band since 2017 and released her debut single, Fools Games, in 2019.

Billed by The Irish Independent as “Galway’s Alt Folk Queen”, Reylta’s debut album, “Everything Unsaved Will Be Lost”, was released last October.

Her entry “Fire” is going to be released later in the day.

Known for her vibrant, enigmatic sound, Bobbi Arlo draws inspiration from artists like Shygirl and Sega Bodega, blending club-ready beats with deeply personal lyrics.

A rising star in the Irish music scene, Bobbi has gained notable recognition, including a nomination for Song of the Year at the RTÉ Choice Music Awards for her anthemic track “Feel It”.

She has sold out shows in Dublin, performed at major festivals like Primavera, and earned widespread airplay. In 2024, she was named Gay Times & Coca-Cola Artist of the Year.

Ireland: One of the Six Eurosong 2025 Contestants Directly Invited by RTÉ!

The Irish Head of Delegation, Michael Kealy, has revealed that one of the six artists competing in Eurosong 2025 was directly invited by RTÉ.

Speaking on Thursday’s “Ray D’Arcy Show,” Michael Kealy explained that one of the six acts competing in Eurosong 2025 is the ‘RTÉ Wildcard.’ He noted that the quality and variety of songs submitted this year have improved, thanks to Ireland’s best result in 24 years.

Explaining the decision to invite an artist directly, Mr. Kealy stated:

As you know, in recent years, we have reserved the right to fast-track entries to the Eurosong final that we think are exceptional or are artists we know well and believe can perform well in the competition… So, we have one artist we have invited to participate in our Eurosong.

Mr. Kealy added that the public will recognize the invited artist, as they have an international profile.

The six songs competing in Eurosong 2025 will be unveiled starting January 20 on “The Ray D’Arcy Show,” airing weekdays from 3 pm.

The Irish national final for Eurovision 2025, “The Late Late Show Eurosong Special,” is scheduled for February 7.

Last year, Bambie Thug won the national selection and represented Ireland in Malmö with “Doomsday Blue.” Bambie not only brought Ireland back to the Grand Final but also secured sixth place in the standings.

Ireland: The Announcement of Eurosong 2025 Participants Starts on January 20!

A few weeks ago, it was revealed through the Éirevision podcast that Ireland’s national final Eurosong, which will determine this year’s representative at Eurovision, will take place on February 7.

Today, the same source announced that the artists competing in Eurosong 2025, will be revealed from Monday 20 January onwards on The Ray D’arcy show, broadcast on RTE Radio 1.

 

Last year, Ireland made a strong comeback in the contest after several years of non-qualification for the Eurovision final, achieving sixth place with Bambie Thug and the song “Doomsday Blue”. Below, you can watch last year’s performance:

Happy New Year everyone! The first article for 2025 could be no other but the results of the #ESC250 voting by Songfestival.be in collaboration and as presented via EFR12 Radio.

For the seventeenth year in a row, Songfestival.be conducted during November a poll, asking Eurofans to vote for their ten favourite Eurovision entries of all time. 2023, also, marks the first year that the results are announced via EFR12 Radio. Starting at 11:30 CET and for twelve hours straight, we had the chance to listen to what the Eurovision community considers as the all-time classics of the contest.

Hence, Loreen is the big winner of this year’s #ESC250 with her song “Euphoria“. Loreen represented Sweden in Eurovision 2012 with Euphoria and in 2023 with Tattoo which ended up in 2nd place.

Ireland: Eurosong 2025 will take place on February 7th!

In recent news, Éirevision podcast confirmed that the Irish national selection for Eurovision 2025 will once again take place as part of The Late Late Show. This marks the fourth consecutive year that the popular talk show will host the special edition of Eurosong, with the event scheduled for Friday, February 7th, 2025.

Eurosong 2025

Six acts will compete for the Irish representation at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025. Given the success of last year’s representative, Bambie Thug, expectations are high for a highly competitive edition.

RTÉ also addressed the possibility of introducing a separate, standalone national selection for Eurovision in the future. However, due to financial constraints, this plan has been delayed, with the broadcaster citing instability in funding as the primary reason. Despite this, the Irish delegation remains optimistic about implementing such a format in the coming years.

While further details about the artists and songs competing in Eurosong 2025 have not yet been revealed, snippets of the rumored Eurosong acts have started circulating on social media.

Bambie Thug triumphed in last year’s Eurosong with their song “Doomsday Blue”, securing Ireland’s spot in the Grand Final for the first time in six years, ultimately finishing in the sixth place.
