Aftonbladet and Torbjörn Ek did it again and just a while ago revealed new potential Melodifestivalen 2024 acts! Last year, Aftonbladet revealed 24 out of the 28 acts of Melodifestivalen 2023, even before SVT announced the line-up officially.
The Swedish duo Samir och Viktor make their return after six years of absence from the contest! The duo adds up to the potential lineup that will compete in the hopes of getting selected to represent Sweden next year, at the Eurovision Song Contest to be held in Malmö, Sweden. They are more or less known to the fanbase, having competed more than once at Melodifestivalen in the past.
Samir & Viktor have competed three times before in Melodifestivalen, in 2015 with “Groupie“, in 2016 with “Bada nakna” and in 2018 with “Shuffla“. The first two times they made it to the final via Second Chance, the third time they went directly to the final where they finished fourth, the duo’s best final position.
But the recession affected both of them with serious income losses, and this summer they chose to reunite and released the song “Skål” together, while they also appeared on this years last show of Allsång på Skansen with Victor Leksell.
Samir Badran, 33, fully invested in his new profession as a broker while Viktor Frisk, 28, continued as a lifestyle influencer while trying to launch a solo career in music. Now they are making their comeback to the contest, after six years!
According to sources, it seems that some record companies and music publishers have received word of mouth about songs and artists, but that SVT has not yet sent out that many official confirmations. As it is still quite early, things can change until the confirmation emails go out to the artists.
We remind you that Melodifestivalen 2023 is scheduled to take place between February 3rd to March 9th, while SVT has received 2624 songs. The final list of Melodifestivalen participants will be published later this year, between end of November and beginning of December.
The list of artist that are reportedly participating at Melodifestivalen 2024 are:

Lots of Eurovision fans are eagerly hoping for them to come back at the contest. But has the time just come?
KEiiNO band, a few moments ago, uploaded a Reels video on their Instagram account, rocking the boat of Eurovision news. The Reels featured a question, urging their fans to complete the sentence “Nu … vi!“. For those you can’t speak Swedish, nu kör vi means let’s go!
But what could this mean? Is this a reference at them taking part in Melodifestivalen 2024, or they are referencing a potential participation at MGP 2024, which could potentially let them represent Norway in Malmö, Sweden?
Time will tell.
KEiiNO is a Norwegian supergroup consisting of Sámi rapper Fred Buljo and singers Alexandra Rotan and Tom Hugo. The group was created in late 2018 in preparation for their participation in Melodi Grand Prix 2019, which they won and so were selected to represent Norway with the song “Spirit in the Sky” in the Eurovision Song Contest 2019, finishing in sixth place, even though they placed first in the televoting results.
On 11 January 2021, it was announced that KEiiNO would participate in the Melodi Grand Prix 2021 final with the pre-qualified song “Monument“. The song was released at midnight on 15 January 2021 with the group’s debut performance of the song during the first heat of Melodi Grand Prix 2021 on 16 January 2021. The song reached the top four in the final on 20 February 2021, eventually reaching the gold duel, but lost to Tix‘s “Fallen Angel“.
Do you think KEiiNO could be selected to represent Norway for a second time? Let us know in the comment section below.

More than one month ago Sweden won the Eurovision Song Contest hosted in Liverpool, when Loreen perfmormed the song “Tattoo” and managed to pull off her second victory, rendering her the second person and the first woman to ever score a double victory at the contest!
Sweden knows how to keep our interest warm about their contest that they get to host next year, with several announcements during summer, among which is the announcement of the host city, expected in a bit more than a week from now on the 7th of July.
Same goes for the most loved national selection process, Melodifestivalen, which is highly anticipated this year, following the Swedish victory at the contest. SVT a while ago announced changes in the format of the weekly heats of the show, following the changes that had been announced for the tour of 2023 and 2022 respectively. Project manager of Melodifestivalen, Anders Wistbacka, commented on the announced changes:
“We always want to make Melodifestivalen even better and more exciting for our audience. With this completely new arrangement, we believe we can maintain viewers’ engagement throughout the season.
It’s no secret that we’ve lost audiences in the semi-finals. Now we hope to keep the excitement up through all the programs”
Now a total of 30 acts will compete throughout the Melodifestivalen tour, which will be split into five groups of six acts which will compete in each of the five heats of the tour. That is the first change, compared to this years format, where there were four groups of seven acts, 28 in total, which competed in four heats.
In each of the heats, two acts qualify directly to the final, two remain at the competition and two are disqualified. The final show remains the same, will still have twelve competing entries and the final score is calculated 50% by the public vote via the app or sms and 50% of an international jury.
SVT has created a completely new program, which will be broadcast live from the arena directly after the 5th heat ends! All the competing artists are in place and the viewers get to see a quick recap of all the ten performances. The result is based on an aggregate score of the number of votes in the heats and the number of votes of the new program.
The entry submission window for Melodifestivalen 2024 opens on the 25th of August at 09:00 CET and ends on the 15th of September at 11:59 CET, when the hopefuls will get the chance to submit their entries at melodifestivalen.se.
Sweden will host the 68th Eurovision Song Contest after Loreen’s iconic second win with the song “Tattoo“:
