Italy: Sanremo 2025 songs in numbers!

With the grand final of the 75th Sanremo Italian Music Festival just a few hours away, let’s take a look at the songs. More specifically, let’s see how many streams the songs made on the music platforms Spotify and Apple Music, as well as the video views on YouTube. Which ones stand out and which ones don’t do so well?

YouTube views
Italian YouTube trends have been flooded with clips of the entries, but also videos of the songs’ performances on the first night of the festival.

The video clip with the most views at the time of writing is Olly’s Balorda Nostalgia with 2 million views, followed closely by Fedez and Achille Lauro. Coma_Cose, Giorgia, Simone Cristicchi and Tony Effe all have over 1 million views.

Fedez’s live performance of BATTITO has reached almost 3 million views and is the most popular video, with Simone Cristicchi and Giorgia following close behind. Lucio Corsi passed 1.5 million views and Brunori Sas, Achille Lauro, Olly and Tony Effe have over 1 million views.

But there are also videos that have entered YouTube trends outside of Italy. In particular, the live performances of Fedez, Simone Cristicchi and Giorgia have entered the trends in Malta and Switzerland.

The Spotify streams
As every year, Sanremo has its place of honour on Italian Spotify. The entire top 20 consists exclusively of songs from the festival.

In the updated weekly chart this is how the top is formed:

01 Olly – Balorda nostalgia
02 Fedez – BATTITO
03 Tony Effe – DAMME ‘NA MANO
05 Giorgia – LA CURA PER ME
06 Achille Lauro – Incoscienti Giovani
08 Rose Villain – fuorilegge
10 Bresh – La tana del granchio

At the moment Olly with Balorda Nostalgia has the most streams (about 6100000) followed by Fedez with Battito (about 5300000). Behind them are Tony Effe, Giorgia, Achille Lauro, Rose Villain and Bresh (around 3000000 each), while Coma_Cose with the viral Cuoricini is gaining a lot of ground in the last days.

Outside Italy, several songs from this year’s Sanremo have made it onto charts in Switzerland and Luxembourg. Fedez’s Battito reached number 16 on the Swiss chart.

Apple Music
The music platform does not give detailed data, for streams, but in the charts that are updated every few hours we see that songs are in the top positions there too. The top 5 is as follows:

01 Olly – Balorda nostalgia
02 Fedez – BATTITO
03 Achille Lauro – Incoscienti Giovani
04 Giorgia – LA CURA PER ME
05 Tony Effe – DAMME ‘NA MANO

As with Spotify, several songs appeared in the Swiss chart, for example Fedez with Battito, but also Olly with Balorda Nostalgia are in the top 20 of the Swiss chart.

The conclusions
It seems that this year’s Sanremo 2025 Festival is the most controversial in recent years. There is no clear favourite and perhaps the result will be a surprise for everyone. In terms of music platforms, it seems that Fedez and Olly are mostly winning the preferences, with Giorgia, Achille Lauro and Tony Effe following. YouTube video views generally agree, but in terms of live performance views, Giorgia and Simone Cristicchi are higher in comparison. There is a preference for the live performance of these two songs, which makes sense since they are two well-known artists with vast experience and sensational live performances, each for their own reason.

My prediction for tonight

I take it for granted that we will definitely see Fedez, Giorgia, Olly and Simone Cristicchi in the top five, while fifth place is more open with Achille Lauro, Lucio Corsi and Brunori Sas being the frontrunners for it based on both projections and the results of the previous nights. The winner will be determined by both the audience vote, which this year carries more weight than in other years, and the committee vote. Personally I see Fedez as the frontrunner, but I do not rule out in any way a win for Giorgia or even Simone Cristicchi, although he seems to be losing a lot of ground in recent days. The surprise could come from Olly, but I wonder if he will have enough support from the committees to take the lead?

One thing is for sure, it will be an unpredictable and exciting Sanremo!
