American Song Contest: The voting format of the contest!

The representatives of Minnesota, Yam Haus hosted a TikTok live where they answered questions about the American Song Contest and gave information about their song and the voting format.

  • There will be 3 ways to vote: NBC website, an unknown app for now, and TikTok.

  • 11 songs will perform on March 21 and 4 will move on to the semi-finals.

  • 5 Quarter-finals with 4 moving on from each semi-final, leading to 2 semis of 10 and the final.

  • The voting will follow the Eurovision format, with each state giving their own ranked votes.

  • Each individual voter will rank all the songs when they vote, so it’ll basically be the Eurovision jury voting format for the televote as well.

  • They said there are some very experienced people working on the staging.

  • Those who make it to round 2 get custom in-ear pieces.

  • Yam Haus will be performing a song called “Ready To Go” that was originally a lo-fi track but is now a rock and roll song.

  • Each representative will be going to Los Angeles a week before the show, so we’ll be able to figure out the contestants of the first week soon.

he American Song Contest 2022 will start on Monday, March 22 and will last 8 weeks, until the big winner is announced on May 9. The competition will be attended by the 50 US states, the five overseas US possessions and the capital, Washington. Grammy-winning pop superstar Kelly Clarkson and multi-platinum music icon Snoop Dogg will host the show.

American Song Contest: Snoop Dog and Kelly Clarkson will host the show!

Two of the biggest names in the American music industry will present the long-awaited American Song Contest. According to NBC and the official site of Eurovision, Snoop Dog and Kelly Clarkson will be the presenters of the American Song Contest.

The American Song Contest 2022 will premiere on Monday, March 22 and will last 8 weeks, until the Grand Final on May 9. The American Song Contest will feature live and original music performances – from all 50 states, five U.S. territories and the capital – competing to win the title of ‘Best Original Song’.

The live competition consists of three rounds: Qualifying, followed by the Semi-Finals, and the ultimate Grand Final, where one state or territory will emerge victorious.

 

Rap legend, Snoop Dog, expressed in his statements his excitement for this project:

I am honored to host American Song Contest alongside my lil sis Kelly Clarkson, aka Miss Texas. 🎤🎬👊🏾👊🏾.

Kelly Clarkson also added:

have been a fan and love the concept of Eurovision and am thrilled to bring the musical phenomenon to America. I’m so excited to work with Snoop and can’t wait to see every state and territory represented by artists singing their own songs.

The 56 participating artists are expected to be announced in the near future, as there are exactly five weeks left until the start of the American Song Contest.
