Croatia: The running orders in the semi-finals of Dora 2025!

The running orders of the semi-finals of Dora 2025, the song contest through which Croatia is going to select their entry for Eurovision Song Contest 2025, were revealed.

The national broadcaster of Croatia, HRT, revealed the running orders of the Dora 2025 two semi-finals which are as per below:

First Semi-Final

The full schedule of Dora 2025 is as per below:

  • First Semi-Final – Thursday, February 27
  • Second Semi-Final – Friday, February 28
  • Final – Sunday, March 2

In the two semi-finals, the winners are going to be decided solely by public vote. In the Final, the result is going to be determined 50% by public vote and 50% by two committees, one Croatian and one international.

Latvia: The running order of the semi-final of Supernova 2025!

The running order of the semi-final of Supernova 2025, the song contest through which Latvia is going to select their entry for Eurovision Song Contest 2025, was revealed.

The national broadcaster of Latvia, LTV, revealed the running order of the Supernova 2025 semi-final which is aper below:

The semi-final is scheduled for February 1, where a combination of jury and public voting will decide the 10 artists who advance to the final. The final is going to take place on February 8, using the same voting system to select Latvia’s Eurovision 2025 entry, which will compete in Basel.

San Marino: More than 1200 submissions for Eurovision 2025!

The interest in representing San Marino in the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 is great.

RTVSM, the national broadcaster of San Marino, has revealed that it has received more than 1,200 applications for the representation of the Most Serene Republic at Eurovision 2025, in Basel, Switzerland, a 30% increase compared to last year.

The auditions are currently being held either in person or online, from which the contestants for the San Marino Song Contest semi-finals will be selected, which are scheduled to take place from 13 to 15 February. The San Marino Song Contest final is going to take place on 8 March.

Artistic director Massimo Bonelli also hints at a high level of transparency in the voting process. The judges are expected to publicly announce their votes, and Bonelli himself will have the opportunity to award an artist 10 additional points.

Belgium: Listen to the songs of Eurosong 2025!

The songs for Eurosong 2025, Belgium’s national competition through which the kingdom is going to select its entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2025, in Basel, Switzerland, were published.

After tonight’s show where the last four songs of Eurosong 2025 were performed, the studio versions of all the candidate songs were released, which you can listen to by clicking on the link in the titles of the entries.

The final of Eurosong 2025 is scheduled to take place on 1st of February at the city of Vilvoorde!

Spain: The guest artists of Benidorm Fest 2025!

Spain’s national broadcaster, RTVE, has announced the guest artists of Benidorm Fest 2025, the competition through which the Iberian kingdom is going to choose its participation in the Eurovision Song Contest 2025, in Basel, Switzerland.

In the first semi-final of Benidorm Fest 2025, on January 28, Edurne, who represented Spain ten years ago at Eurovision 2015, as well as the female group Ginebras, will perform.

The second semi-final on January 30 will feature Ruth Lorenzo, who represented Spain eleven years ago at Eurovision 2014, singer Chenoa, originally from Argentina and Spain, and singer Isabel Aaiún.

The final on February 1 will feature last year’s winners and Spain’s representatives at Eurovision 2024 Nebulossa, along with the musical act Rigoberta Bandini, who took part at Benidorm Fest 2022, and the rock duo Amaral.

Norway: Listen to the songs of Melodi Grand Prix 2025!

The songs that are going to compete in Melodi Grand Prix 2025, the national competition through which Norway selects its participation in the Eurovision Song Contest, have been released.

Wales: EBU responds to the call for Eurovision participation!

The European Broadcasting Union responds to the call for Wales to participate in the Eurovision Song Contest.

Initially, a petition was submitted to the Senedd, which is the country’s legislative body, and specifically to the petitions committee, entitled “Prepare a bid for Wales to compete in the Eurovision Song Contest”.

Specifically, the petition reads the below:

“Wales is known around the world as “The Land of Song”, and we have a rich culture of music and performance which is recognised and celebrated internationally. Wales should have the opportunity to be represented at Eurovision as a nation in its own right. Therefore, we call on the Welsh Government to work with S4C and other relevant bodies to prepare a bid for Wales to compete in the Eurovision Song Contest.”

In 2024, the winner of the Cân i Gymru contest, Sara Davies, from Ceredigion, said that it “doesn’t make sense” that Wales “shouldn’t be allowed to compete as our own nation and that we should go as part of the United Kingdom.” The Plaid Cymru party had also prepared a Eurovision entry, which was part of its manifesto ahead of the 2024 general election.

The European Broadcasting Union responded regarding the Welsh request, which states the following:

“Participation in the Eurovision Song Contest, and other Eurovision live events, is limited to public broadcasters which are members of the European Broadcasting Union. While S4C in Wales is a valued member of the EBU and has taken part twice in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest and once in Eurovision Choir, the BBC has taken part in the Eurovision Song Contest since 1957 and represents the whole of the United Kingdom at the event. As the BBC continues to participate, and remains the rights holder in the United Kingdom, this means an entry from the individual nations of the UK is therefore not possible at the Eurovision Song Contest.”

Iceland: The running orders for the Söngvakeppnin 2025 semi-finals!

The running order of the two semi-finals of Söngvakeppnin 2025 , the contest through which Iceland is going to select their entry for the 2025 Eurovision Song Contest, was revealed.

The national broadcaster of the country, RÚV, revealed the running order of the artists for the two semi-finals of Söngvakeppnin 2025.

The order of the first semi-final is as per below:

  1. Stebbi Jak – “Set Me Free”/“Freslið Mitt”
  2. Birgo – “Stormchaser”/“Ég Flýg Í Storminn”
  3. Ágúst – “Like You” / “Eins Og Þú”
  4. Bia – “Northern Lights”/ “Norðrljós”
  5. Væb – “Róa”

The order of the second semi-final is as per below:

  1. Dagur Sig – “Carousel” / “Flugdrekar”
  2. Júlí og Dísa – “Fire” / “Eldur”

Söngvakeppnin 2025

Following the tradition of recent years, all participants are expected to perform their songs in Icelandic during the semi-finals. However, in the grand final, they may present their English-language versions.

  • Semi-Final 1: February 8
  • Semi-Final 2: February 15
  • Grand Final: February 22

The show will be hosted by Benedikt Valsson, Guðrún Dís Emilsdóttir, and Fannar Sveinsson.

This year, each semi-final will feature five songs, with three advancing to the grand final. Unlike previous editions, where five entries competed in the final, six songs will battle for victory this year.

Additionally, the previous format of a two-song superfinal, where the winner was determined solely by public voting, has been retired. The winner—and Iceland’s Eurovision 2025 representative—will now be determined through a 50/50 combination of public votes and an international jury comprising seven members.

Ireland: Adgy is the third confirmed artist for Eurosong 2025!

The national broadcaster of Ireland, RTÉ, revealed the third name who is going to take part in Eurosong 2025, the national contest through which the country is going to select their entry for the 69th Eurovision Song Contest, the coming May, in Basel, Switzerland.

Adgy is the third confirmed name who is going to claim the representation of Ireland in Eurovision 2025, through Eurosong 2025, that is going to be inclued in the The Late Late Eurosong Special” show, scheduled for 7th of February. The title of his entry is “Run into the Night”.

Adgy is making a bold return with a fresh sound and a mission to represent Ireland at this year’s Eurovision, which will take place in Basel, Switzerland, next May. His new single, Run into the Night, is a Celtic pop anthem written by Adgy and produced by Eurovision legend Ivan Klymenko (Kalush – Stefania, the 2022 winner (Ukraine)).

The Donegal-born singer-songwriter performed on Eurosong 2023 with his track Too Good For Your Love, and since then has taken some time to develop his music and grow as an artist.

After Eurosong 2023, he went traveling and eventually made his way back to London, where he has been writing music for the past year.

A prolific songwriter with over 12 million streams, a deal with Universal Music Group, and a publishing deal with Spirit BMG under his belt, Adgy draws inspiration from his roots in the Donegal Gaeltacht.

His entry “Run into the Night” is going to be released later in the day.

The remaining artists of Eurosong 2025 are to be revealed throughout this week.

Moldova: Is Etapa Națională 2025 canceled?

A press conference is scheduled for tomorrow where, according to speculations, the national broadcaster of Moldova will announce the cancellation of the Eurovision selection process and proceed with an internal selection, despite the fact that the auditions have already taken place and the list of finalists has been determined.

According to speculations around the internet, tomorrow at 11:00 CET, the national broadcaster of Moldova, TRM, will organize a press conference where it will announce the cancellation of Etapa Națională 2025 and will proceed with an internal selection of Bacho and Carnival Brain with their song “Semafoare” to represent the country at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 in Basel. The broadcaster has already held the auditions where 26 songs took part and the date for the final of Etapa Națională 2025 had already been scheduled on February 22, 2025.

The internal selection of Bacho and Carnival Brain, if true, likely is due to the poor quality of this year’s national competition. The songs of Etapa Națională 2025 are not of high quality and contestants who would normally finish last in the auditions managed to qualify to the Etapa Națională 2025 final (for example, Sasha Bognibov’s song).

The rules of the Etapa Națională 2025 indeed permit the national broadcaster to cancel the entire process and to internally select the contestant for Eurovision 2025. It is also stated that the contestants have no right to claim anything against the TRM.

Additionally, Lidia Isac, who represented the country at Eurovision 2016 and was a member of the Etapa Națională 2025 jury, seems, according to her post, to criticise the low quality of the songs in this year’s process.
