Moldova: VOVI ROBIAN withdraw from Etapa Națională 2024!
TRM announced two weeks ago that Aliona Moon and Milla had decided to withdraw from the national selection for undisclosed reasons. There is one more withdrawal today, with only a few days until the Etapa Națională 2024 auditions, which will determine the ten finalists in the selection.
The VOVI ROBIAN band has decided to withdraw from the competition and will not be participating in the auditions scheduled for January 13. The band’s withdrawal, which was submitted to the broadcaster by its frontman, Vladimir Ciubotaru, is due to a member’s health issues.
We remind you that the band was advanced to the auditions’ stage of the competition with their song “Robotul Vovi“.

Among the 31 artists, there are familiar names, like Natalia Barbu, who represented Moldova in Eurovision 2007 with the song “Fight” ending up in 10th place. Also, for the first time, a Moldovan representative from Junior Eurovision, submits a song, and that is Denis Midone, who took part in 2012.
The announcement of the finalists
The thirty long-listed artists will perform the songs live in front of an expert committee in order to receive a golden ticket for Etapa Națională 2024 final.
The Moldovan broadcaster, TVR, has announced that the Etapa Națională 2024 auditions will take place on January 13 at 15:00 CET, with the results being announced the same evening on TV Moldova 1.
The national final will then take place on February 17, where ten artists will claim the Moldovan representation in Eurovision 2024.
The previous winner of Etapa Națională and Moldova’s representative in Eurovision 2023, was Pasha Parfeni with the song “Soarele și luna” who ended up in 18th place of the Grand Final.
