Armenia: Depi Evratesil 2025 line-up revealed!

In November, AMPTV confirmed that Depi Evratesil will be the selection format for Armenia’s Eurovision 2025 entry, marking its return after a five-year hiatus since 2020.

After closing the submission window on January 10th, the first Armenian selection in five years is starting to take shape. AMPTV has now revealed the list of artists who will compete in Depi Evratesil 2025.

Depi Evratesil 2025 – the lineup

Twelve artists are set to compete for the chance to represent Armenia at Eurovision 2025 in Basel:

  • Athena Manoukian 
  • Anahit and Gasoiia
  • Arsen Grigoryan feat. Kamil
  • Gevorg Harutyunyan
  • Mels
  • Milena Mirijanyan
  • Parg
  • Simon
  • Sevagir
  • Flora Bichakhchyan
  • Altsight

Among the candidates we find  Athena Manoukian, winner of Depi Evratesil 2020 and representative of the country in the canceled Eurovision 2020. Furthermore, Parg has tried to get at Eurovision in recent years.

Depi Evratesil 2025 will take place on February 22nd. The winner will be determined through a combined voting, with 25% of the votes coming from an international jury, another 25% from a national jury, and 50% from the public audience.

Ladaniva were AMPTV’s pick for Eurovision 2024 with their song “Jako“. Ladaniva brought the country back to the top ten after eight years, finishing in eighth place.

Armenia: Depi Evratesil 2025 to be held on February 16!

For the first time since 2020, Armenia will host Depi Evratesil, its national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest. As excitement builds, AMPTV has kept most details of the process in secret, but the date for the final has now been revealed.

According to OGAE Armenia, the Depi Evratesil 2025 final will take place on February 16 at the Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concerts Complex in Yerevan. This year, the national selection moves from the AMPTV studios to a larger venue, which has previously hosted both the 2011 and 2022 editions of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, marking the significance of the event.

Meanwhile, ticket sale information will be released soon.

The decision to return to a national selection is a notable shift for AMPTV, which in recent years has opted for internal selection processes, keeping their Eurovision decisions secret until the very last moment. Known for being one of the last broadcasters to announce both its representative and song, Armenia’s early preparations for Depi Evratesil 2025 were surprising, suggesting that the country is taking a more active approach.

AMPTV launched a submission window for artists interested in December, which remained open until January 10. The participants of Depi Evratesil 2025 and their competing entries are due to be revealed soon.

Armenia: Depi Evratesil to return for Eurovision 2025?

It is true that several countries that have opted for internal selections in recent years are now returning to national selection formats for Eurovision 2025. Alongside Montenegro and Greece, reports now indicate that AMPTV will revive Depi Evratesil format for the upcoming contest, after having used internal selections for the past three years.

According to reports from ESC Discord on X, Depi Evratesil will be reintroduced as Armenia’s official national selection format for Eurovision 2025, marking its return for the first time since 2020. The format was previously used to select Armenia’s Eurovision entries in 2017, 2018, and 2020. In 2020, Athena Manoukian was chosen to represent the country, but the contest was ultimately cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
