Belgium: First Four Finalists Revealed Tonight for Eurosong 2025!

Belgium kicks off its journey to the 69th Eurovision Song Contest tonight, unveiling the first four finalists competing in the revamped Eurosong 2025 national final. This marks Belgium’s return to a televised selection format after a two-year hiatus, in an effort to improve on last year’s disappointing non-qualification.

A National Final Revival

The Belgian public broadcaster VRT has decided to relaunch the Eurosong format after the country failed to qualify for the Eurovision grand final for the first time this decade. With an aim to regain its competitive edge, Eurosong 2025 will feature eight artists competing for a chance to represent Belgium in Basel this May.

The highly anticipated grand final of Eurosong 2025 is scheduled for February 1, but fans won’t have to wait that long to get a glimpse of the action. Over the next two Saturdays, the competing entries will be revealed during two Showcase Shows, leading up to the final.

Eurosong 2025 – The Format

The selection process will consist of two preliminary rounds, in which the artists will perform their chosen songs in their most authentic form, without any extra stage effects or production enhancements.

Following the two preliminary rounds, the final of Eurosong 2025 will take place in a live show on Saturday, February 1st, 2025. The final decision of which artist will represent Belgium at Eurovision 2025 will be determined by a combination of public votes and a professional jury.

The show will once again be hosted by Peter Van de Veire, a familiar face in the Belgian Eurovision scene. As always, he will also provide expert commentary during the Eurovision Song Contest in May, offering insights and updates as the competition unfolds.

Mustii represented Belgium in Eurovision 2024 with his entry “Before The Party’s Over”. Despite being a fan-favorite, Mustii did not qualify to the grand final, finishing thirteenth in the second semi-final.

Belgium: “Eurosong” returns for Eurovision 2025!

Eurovision 2024 might have just started, but preparations for next year’s edition have also started.

According to VRT’s commentator, Peter Van de Veire, Belgium will return to a national selection format for Eurovision 2025, namely “Eurosong“.

I have news for you. We are going to organize another edition of Eurosong . This paid off last time, we had a unique winner. It was a nice formula and Gustaph has had a European career.

The decision to reorganize the preselection was quickly made. Further information is not yet known, this will be discussed later. But: I’m going to present it and we’ll end up with a big show, says Peter.

Belgium chose an internal selection over the Eurosong format for Eurovision 2024. As a result, Mustii was selected as Belgium’s representative, becoming the first Eurovision 2024 artist to be revealed.

Mustii will represent Belgium in Eurovision 2024 with his song “Before The Party’s Over” and will perform in the Second Semi-Final.
