Israel: Everything That Happened in the Third Episode of HaKokhav Haba!

The third episode of HaKokhav Haba (special edition), the talent show that will determine the artist representing Israel at Eurovision 2025, aired on Sunday night, November 17.

In this episode, we witnessed five auditions, with only four contestants advancing to the next round, continuing their quest for a ticket to Basel. Hosts of HaKokhav Haba are Assi Azar and Rotem Sela, who have held this role since 2014. The judging panel consists of Shiri Maimon, Itay Levy, Assaf Amdorsky, Eden Hasson, Ran Dankar, and Keren Peles.

Contestants and Their Performances

Aviad Klein

At 25 years old, Aviad Klein has already composed songs for Eden Meiri, Yasmin Moalem, ShrekDiMC, and others. This marks his first appearance on stage as a singer. He performed Adele’s “When We Were Young,” showcasing impressive vocal abilities, earning an outstanding score of 96%.

Amit Sade

Amit Sade, a 23-year-old sales assistant, chose to sing “Scars to Your Beautiful” by Alessia Cara. Her rare voice resembles that of international pop-soul stars, garnering unanimous approval from the judges. Amit advanced to the next stage with a score of 96%.

Tamir Vaknin

Tamir Vaknin revealed that he had a troubled youth, struggling with anger issues and spending time in rehabilitation institutions. With experience performing on small stages such as nightclubs and parties, Tamir sang “Eir Nemal” by Eyal Golan. He scored 81% and progressed to the next round, although Assaf Amdorsky voted against him.

Red Band and Moran Aharoni

The Red Band is an Israeli puppet performance group founded in 2005 by Ari Pepper, Micah Doman, and Ami Weisel, blending unique music with comedy. Featuring puppet characters like Red Auerbach (vocals), Poncho (guitar), and Lefty (keyboards), the group has toured both nationally and internationally, performing rock and folk song covers.

They were joined by Moran Aharoni, a singer-songwriter who rose to prominence on the fourth season of Kohav Nold. He later participated in The Next Star for Eurovision 2020, reaching the semifinals. Known for his wide vocal range, Moran brings drama to their act, while Red Band adds rock and comedy. Together, they performed “Human” by Rag’n’Bone Man, scoring 82%. Despite advancing, they received a negative vote from Assaf Amdorsky.

More About HaKokhav Haba

The show continues with more auditions in the upcoming episodes. From 2015 to 2020, HaKokhav Haba successfully secured Israel’s spot in Eurovision’s grand final every year, with Netta winning the competition in 2018 with her song “Toy.”

Last year’s winner of HaKokhav Haba and Israel’s Eurovision 2024 representative, Eden Golan, placed fifth in the final rankings with her song “Hurricane.”

Moldova: Present in Eurovision 2025| The representative will be selected through a national final!

As it seems, one more country will join the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest, which will take place next year in Basel!

We’re talking about Moldova, which will participate in the contest in Switzerland, hoping to return to the positive results of previous years after last year’s elimination. The submission window is expected to open in the coming days.

The country’s official Eurovision website has been updated, featuring a special section about artist wanting to participate in the national selection for Eurovision 2025, which will once again include a national final as Moldova has done in recent years! The application form and regulations are expected to be posted HERE.

Moldova is the 37th country to confirm its participation in Eurovision 2025, meaning that, in the worst-case scenario, the contest will feature 37 entries, as it has in the past two years.

The only country that has not made any announcement about its participation is Armenia, which will most likely be present, as it usually announces its plans for the contest after the conclusion of Junior Eurovision. Therefore, its current silence is not unusual. The countries confirmed so far are:

If we take Armenia’s participation for granted, all 37 broadcasters from Eurovision 2024 will return, along with Montenegro’s comeback after two years. This would bring the number of participants to 38, the highest since 2022, when 40 countries participated. It remains to be seen if any other countries will join, further increasing the total.

Luxembourg: Luxembourg Song Contest will include seven artists!

There are only three days left until Monday 18th when the names of the artists who will compete in the Luxembourg Song Contest, the national competition that will determine the representative of Luxembourg in the 69th Eurovision Song Contest next May in Basel, Switzerland, are expected to be revealed. In the 2025 Luxembourg Song Contest, the total number of artists to be announced is expected to be seven, one less than this year.

Between November 8 and 10, live auditions of the 79 entries submitted for the Luxembourg Song Contest took place, which were evaluated by the following five-member international jury.

  • Diogo Fernandes,  TV producer – Portugal
  • Eldar Gasimov, singer (Eurovision 2011) – Azerbaijan
  • Marie Myriam, singer (Eurovision 1977) – France
  • Poli Genova, singer (Eurovision 2011, 2016) – Bulgaria
  • Niamh Kavanagh, singer (Eurovision 1993) – Ireland

According to the ESC Discord, two of the seven names to be announced had also competed for this year’s representation of the Grand Duchy.


The Luxembourg Song Contest is scheduled to take place on January 25.

Following the announcement of the participant list for Festivali I Këngës 63, RTSH has gradually revealed the song titles of the competing artists. Today, the complete list of song titles for Albania’s national selection was finally released.

A combination of jury and public vote will decide

This year, according to Euromix.il, Albania’s representative for Eurovision 2024 will be chosen through a combination of public and jury voting. The selection process will follow a 60/40 model, combining jury and audience input to determine the country’s next entry.

This change reflects Festivali i Këngës’ gradual shift toward incorporating more public input, especially in the context of Eurovision. For many years, the festival faced criticism regarding transparency and its failure to align with modern Eurovision standards.

The dates for FiK 63 have not yet been announced. However, renowned singer and Albania’s former Eurovision representative, Elhaida Dani, will serve as the festival’s artistic director this year.

The Albanian public’s pick for Eurovision 2024 was Besa with her song “Zemrën n’dorë“. Besa released a revamped version in English titled “Titan” for Eurovision, where she did not make it to the Grand Final, finishing fourteenth in the second semi-final.

Estonia: Tommy Cash is confident that he will be the Eesti Laul 2025 winner!

In an interview with ERR, the country’s national broadcaster, Estonian rap star Tommy Cash said he was confident that the organizers of Estonia’s top song contest Eesti Laul would not miss the chance to include him among this year’s finalists. Cash also believes he is the best artist to represent Estonia at Eurovision 2025.

Cash told ERR that he had no doubt that his song would be selected for the upcoming edition of Eesti Laul, the competition that will determine who will represent Estonia at Eurovision in 2025.

“I always felt inside that [the judges] would definitely pick that song because I don’t think Eesti Laul is stupid and I don’t think they would pass up the opportunity for me to be in there as I think I could be the best representative for Estonia.”

According to Cash, now strategically is the right time in his career to compete in Eurovision.

“Because I have been working with Käärijä (Finland’s 2023 Eurovision contestant – ed.) and I started working with a producer who also produced the Finnish Eurovision song ‘Cha Cha Cha.’ Then there was this moment where I made a little joke on stage and said I was going to Eurovision and it snowballed so much from there. “When I was walking down the street, all the fans were like, ‘yeah, yeah, Eurovision!’ The internet picked up on it too and so, I feel like young people in Estonia have made up their minds about who is going to Eurovision. Of course, I also hope that everyone will like the song and I will do my best. But you never know. However, I would like to say with confidence that I could go to Eurovision right now.”

If Cash doesn’t win the next Eesti Laul, he said, he’ll be okay with that too.

“I’m totally fine with it, I understand and people will just have to imagine what would have happened if Tommy Cash had gone to Eurovision. I’m giving people the chance to think that I could actually go, because the competition actually starts if I were to win Eesti Laul, which is very important”

He also added that if he doesn’t win Eurovision, he would be satisfied with a top five finish.

Commenting on his participation in the Estonian contest Eesti Laul,  Cash finds his song “Espresso Macchiato” captivating.

“It’s something new for everyone. I’m often asked what I think about such a video or picture. Everything I do has a context for me, but for every person it’s different. Let people listen to it for themselves.”

In the end, Cash clarified that after 2025 he does not intend to compete in Eesti Laul again.

“Why? When I’m already going to Eurovision and I’m going to do it in such a legendary way”

The Eesti Laul 2025 is scheduled for February 15, 2025, when we will find out who will raise the Estonian flag at the 69th Eurovision Song Contest, next May in Basel, Switzerland!

Serbia: 222 entries submitted for Pesma za Evroviziju 2025!

The deadline for submitting entries for Pesma za Evroviziju 2025 (PzE 2025), the national competition that will determine Serbia’s next entry in the 69th Eurovision Song Contest in Basel, Switzerland, ended on November 10.

A total of 222 entries were submitted for Pesma za Evroviziju 2025, and contest editor Olivera Kovačević and music editor Uroš Marković say the difficult part now is selecting the 28 entries that will compete in the semi-finals.

Olivera Kovačević and Uroš Marković were guests on the show “Jedan dobar dan” where they made relevant statements.

Uroš Marković stated:

“Pesma za Evroviziju is becoming more popular every year. Last year’s final was watched by 1,750,000 people on television and another 450,000 on YouTube. All in all, that’s more than two million people. This year, we are in negotiations with the Eurovision Song Contest to broadcast the final for the Serbian representative on their official channel.”

According to him, Pesma za Evroviziju gives the contestants a great chance for promotion, because it is covered by the media and is very popular.

In turn, Olivera Kovačević stated:

“The careers of many now famous performers started at PZE, and the fact that the competition is increasingly popular shows that we have found the path we need to follow and that we are making progress every year, both visually and in terms of content.”

She also reveals that there are very good applications for the upcoming competition and many famous performers, but she cannot name them because the selection committee will evaluate them in early December and then a list of those who have passed will be made.

“It is the best when you offer a variety of genres, from ethno, to rock and pop, to metal. It is the same at the ‘Eurovision’, every year they try to find a recipe. One year ‘Måneskin’ win, and the next year everyone plays something similar. This year Nemo won, probably next year some will try something in that vein”

The names that will compete in Pesma za Evroviziju will be revealed in mid-December.

Ukraine: 374 Songs Submitted for Vidbir 2025!

Today, the public broadcaster of Ukraine, Suspilne, announced that it has received 374 song submissions for its national final, from 304 artists. Among these, 232 submissions are from solo performers and 72 from bands. A total of 369 applications were submitted.

The submission period for the Eurovision 2025 national selection ran from September 17 to November 10. This year, applications were also submitted by artists from Sweden, Germany, Poland, the United States, France, Spain, and the United Kingdom.

The names of the artists advancing to the next selection stage will soon be announced. Based on the initial selection results, a list of participants who will move forward to the national selection phase will be formed. This list will include up to 20 artists who must pass auditions and participate in person.

By December 20, the finalist list for the national final will be finalized, comprising up to 9 performers based on audition results. For those on the longlist who do not make it to the finalist list, an online ranking vote will determine an additional participant for the final. The complete list of finalists will be announced by January 17, 2025.

The national final will take place in February as a televised concert. Like in previous years, the winner will be selected through a combination of public and jury voting. The composition of the jury will be decided by the Ukrainian public in an online vote at a later date.

Previous Vidbir winners and Ukraine’s Eurovision 2024 representatives, alyona alyona & Jerry Heil, finished in third place with their song “Teresa & Maria”.

Lithuania: Song submission window for Eurovizija.LT extended!
