Austria: Τhe search for Eurovision 2025 entry has started!

The search for the next Austrian representative for the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 has begun.

Austria’s selection for Eurovision 2025 is underway with scouts looking for singers for the next contest. Peter Schreiber, who is working with ORF to find the next Austrian representative, has posted on instagram encouraging musicians to reach out, in order to represent the country in Switzerland.

Schreiber says that the selection is looking for musicians of all genres, with an extra focus on acts that are exciting, unusual, emotional, original and authentic.

To apply for the chance to represent Austria at the upcoming contest, the selection asks people to send information regarding themselves, as well as audio samples or reference songs, or a specific song that the artist would like to sing at Eurovision 2025. Interested musicians are asked to contact Peter Schreiber on Instagram, with the deadline for the selection on September 15.

Kaleen represented Austria at the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 with “We Will Rave”. She finished in 24th place, with 24 points.

Eurovision 2024: “ESC – The Countdown” will be held for another year!

For another year, the public broadcasters of Austria, Germany, and Switzerland are hosting “ESC – The Countdown”, a TV party that is broadcast live from the Eurovision host city and offers fans in the three countries additional content about their favourite competition.

This television show was originally broadcast only in Germany, as it is an initiative of the country’s public television. However, from 2023 the show is run in partnership with ORF and SFR.

The broadcast starts at 20:15 CEST and includes an Aftershow, which will air after 1:00 CEST. The programme will, of course, be attended by the representatives of the three German-speaking countries, Nemo, Kaleen and Isaak. Furthermore, fans of the competition will also be given the opportunity to participate, although it has not yet been specified how. Barbara Schöneberger will return to present the show for another year.

Austria: Kaleen is off to Eurovision 2024!

Austrian national public broadcaster ORF has revealed that Kaleen will represent Austria at the 2024 Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö.

A few words about Kaleen

Kaleen is an Austrian pop singer-songwriter based in Vienna, whose vibrant music manifests the brightest, most exhilarating sides of life.

As an award-winning professional dancer, Kaleen has competed countless times, winning over 80 first places and garnering awards such as Best Female Talent and Best Choreography at various dance competitions. Fueled by a desire to fulfill her dreams, the self-taught artist learned to write her own songs, channeling the same effervescent energy of dance into songwriting.

Her stage presence, inspired by early Britney Spears and Kylie Minogue, marries itself perfectly to her sparkling, engaging music. Kaleen’s sound is confident and upbeat, radiating the kind of magnetic energy that draws people together for a good time.

Kaleen’s dazzling spirit is a contagious miracle, spreading confidence, joy and beauty. She feels most herself on stage, dancing and sharing her passion with her audience, creating radiant moments for people to enjoy and remember.

Her song title is “We Will Rave” and it’s techno-inspired She is a professional dancer, choreographer and singer. Kaleen has quite a lot of experience working for Eurovision: numerous JESC stagings, stage director of the JESC 2022, a director of the German selection for Eurovision 2023 and many other Austrian and German shows.

She also collaborated with Martin Deitmann on many-many projects But you may remember her from the iconic Cyprus 2018 stand-in rehearsal where she performed Eleni’s parts on stage, in fact she also were a stand-in performer for Armenian entry “Dance” by Nare at JESC 2022.

Her dance-pop We Will Rave will be released in March!

Austria: A female singer will fly to Malmo!

The Austrian act for Eurovision 2024 will be revealed tomorrow morning on the Ö3 Wecker show on Hitradio Ö3 at 7:40 CET.

Following a reel of Hitradio Ö3 there is a reference to a female representative!

This news is confirmed by our own exclusive information. In fact, she is a singer who is also a very good dancer and has a lot of experience in the Eurovision Song Contest.

Austria in Eurovision 2024

Austria, for yet another year, chose its entry internally, following an open call to interested artists. Fourteen of the songs that were initially submitted made it to the live audition round.

A multidisciplinary committee comprised of twenty-five individuals selected the artist who will represent Austria in Malmö, Sweden, in May of next year. The jury included both musicologists and Eurovision fans.

More than sixty songs were submitted to ORF and although its was expected to announce the internal selection’s outcome was expected to be released on December, the announcement took a one-month delay.

Austria was represented last year by Teya and Salena and the song “Who the Hell is Edgar“, finishing fifteenth.

Austria: Will the artist representing the country be made public in the upcoming week?

The artist who will represent Austria in the 68th Eurovision Song Contest has already been chosen and will be revealed within the next week, according to the Austrian newspaper Kronen.

Austria, for another year, chose its entry internally, following an open call to interested artists. Fourteen of the songs that were initially submitted made it to the live audition round.

At this point, a specially formed, multidisciplinary committee comprised of twenty-five individuals selected the artist who will represent Austria in Malmö, Sweden, in May of next year. The jury included both musicologists and Eurovision fans.

With the song “Who the Hell is Edgar?” Teya and Salena, who represented Austria last year, came in fifteenth place overall with 120 points.
