France: Louane denies rumors of Eurovision 2025 participation

Singer Louane will not represent France in the upcoming Eurovision competition. This Friday, with the release of her new album Solo, the artist decided to address and deny the rumors about her participation in the contest.

In an interview with the French newspaper Le Parisien, the 27-year-old singer clarified: “Despite the rumors, I won’t be taking part in Eurovision. I’m honored that people think of me for something like this, especially since I always watched it with my mother.”

However, Louane hasn’t ruled out the possibility for the future: “Why not one day, but my priority now is the album.”

Speculation about her potential participation arose after she canceled some live concerts during the period the competition will take place in Basel, and because she is soon releasing her new album. Many assumed one of the songs from the album might serve as France’s entry, a practice the French national broadcaster has followed for the last two years—selecting a song from an established local artist’s album to represent the country.

France: Will Louane represent the country at Eurovision 2025?

The French singer Louane, one of the biggest talents on the French music scene in recent years, has sparked intense speculation with her recent decision to cancel all her concerts scheduled for April and May 2025. This move has fueled rumors that she might be the choice of the French public broadcaster to represent France at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025.

Although there has been no official confirmation from the artist or France Télévisions, her decision to cancel her entire tour during that period has been interpreted by many as a sign that she is preparing for the major competition. This aligns with France’s recent strategy of selecting well-known and established artists for Eurovision, such as Barbara Pravi (2021), La Zarra (2023), and Slimane (2024), in an effort to strengthen the country’s presence in the contest.

Additionally, Louane is expected to release her new album in the coming days, which has already garnered the attention of her fans. Many speculate that a song from this album could be chosen as France’s Eurovision entry for 2025, following the example of Slimane last year, who released his song shortly before being confirmed as France’s representative for the 2024 contest.

With her unique voice and emotional performances, Louane has captivated audiences since her first appearance on The Voice France in 2013. She later gained recognition as an actress with her role in the award-winning film La Famille Bélier, which earned her the César Award for Most Promising Actress. Her music career soared with hits like “Avenir” and “Si t’étais là,” with her albums achieving platinum sales.

Louane possesses both the artistic background and talent to showcase France at Eurovision, and her potential participation is creating high expectations for a strong showing in the 2025 contest. The coming months are expected to be exciting, as rumors may soon be confirmed, and we could see Louane preparing to represent France on the Eurovision stage in her own unique way.
